Nice modern hotel, very clean. Not too far from the harbour front , 5 minute walk. Hotel has a nice bistro restaurant, which a very good buffet breakfast is served. Hot options available at the chef station. Ideal base for our two night stay.

The hotel sits within a 5-minute walk of the Waterfront, making it ridiculously convenient for exploring local restaurants, shops, and boat cruises. What struck me most was the attention to detail in the rooms - from the spacious layouts to the luxury showers that actually deliver on the promise of indulgence. LOCATION: The location is genuinely one of The Rex's strongest assets. Being just 300 meters from Knysna Waterfront means I could walk to restaurants, bars, and shops in under five minutes. The proximity to attractions like Featherbed Nature Reserve, Knysna Heads, and the lagoon makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. I appreciated being close enough to everything without being in the thick of tourist chaos - it's that perfect sweet spot where convenience meets tranquility. DINE + DRINK: They have a sweet-looking restaurant called SALT WATER BISTRO - which I didnt have a chance to try. So cannot comment ROOM: We stayed in Room 308, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Good sized bathroom with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good quality toiletries FACILITIES: No Gym on site. And the tiny outdoor pool was unusable thanks to the cool weather SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Small Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in multiple languages

I can highly recommend the aha The Rex Hotel. The location is perfect, walking distance to the Waterfront and to the Main Street. The staff are friendly and willing to help. The breakfast is delicious and the hotel is neat and clean.

Situated adjacent to the Waterfront. Breakfast was delicious, the selection was very decent and of high standard. A quality meal to start the day.

We were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. Upon arrival, we were pleased to see that our request for early check-in had been noted and accommodated.

My husband and I had a lovely overnight stay. The room was comfortable with everything you need. The hotel is within walking distance to the Waterfront. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant which was absolutely delicious! The hotel breakfast was also fantastic. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Rex Knysna keep competing very well with the best at very competitive prices. Their facilities and excellence are of the best. Location in a pine spot near the Waterfront with many extra facilities and close to many day trips it is ideal for groups, individuals and couples. We recommend them with confidence and pride.
