Our week on Koh Lanta wouldn't had been that marvelous without us staying at Thip House. Thip herself and the staff were so welcoming and helpful and responsive to everything we needed. The hotel is pretty small and designed in cozy traditional Thai style which we truly enjoyed. The cleanliness and calmness of the place is exceptional. Absolutely loved the yard and pool area, sooo relaxing and beautiful (and clean, again). Thanks to Thip, who kindly made a room upgrade for us, we could relish it as much as possible :)
The only thing that should be improved, in my opinion, is breakfast since there are just 5 very basic options you can choose from. Still pretty tasty, though.
Another note is that the hotel is a bit off the shopping and restaurant areas which is awesome if you seek tranquility, but with a scooter your stay will definitely be much more comfortable (and fun, huh). By the way, you can rent one just right at the reception. With a scooter, the hotel location is just perfect for exploring the island. Also, just in case you need any medical help as we did, you can find a very good hospital next to the hotel.
To sum up, you want a luxurious stay, this is not the hotel for you. But if you want to feel home I can definitely recommend it. The people is what makes this place a gem.
