Mook Lanta Eco Resort

Overall, the stay was okay. Loved the vibe the cabin gave and its ambiance. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good (for western standards) and the pool very chill (even though it is located next to the road so comes with a lot of traffic noise). We stayed in the cabins with the fan, and even though we knew there was no airco, the cabins were incredibally hot. So hot we could not catch much sleep. The marrasses were extremely hard and very oncomfortable. The temperature in the cabin itself raise so high, that during daytime you could not stay there. So, overall, nice stay, just know what you can expect.

We booked six nights here but ended up leaving two nights early. Things didn't start out great - I emailed asking about an airport transfer, as offered on the booking site. I was given a price and replied saying yes please, but then heard nothing. No replies to follow up emails. We ended up finding our own way which was fine, but could have done without the hassle. The bungalows are OK. The pictures on the booking sites don't match the reality - I'd guess they're quite old. The rooms are sparser and could do with a lick of paint. The AC and fridge worked fine. The staff are great, very friendly and professional. The breakfast is very good. The pool is nice, a decent size and very clean. But the steps in are dangerous - the anti slip gravel has worn away on one step and there are sharp tile edges. Both my kids cut their toes on them. Overall, we were disappointed. I get that it's a more rustic offering than a resort. But I think it's overpriced for what's on offer, communication was poor, and the pool issue was really worrying.
