Castello Mare Hotel

Regrettably, I cannot provide more than 2 stars. 2 stars are allocated: one for the scenic location and another for the restaurant by the pool that offers commendable food and service. In particular, the waiter Gvantsa performed exceptionally well. However, this hotel does not offer good value for money. The standard of the rooms does not correspond to that of a 5-star establishment; instead, it resembles a subpar 3-star accommodation. Additionally, the beach is unsatisfactory, afflicted with cleanliness issues, and insufficient in terms of beach chairs and beachside bar amenities. Superior beachfront hotels can be found in Kobuleti and Batumi. Moreover, the reception employs an inadequate number of staff, resulting in a lack of assistance for visitors with luggage when it comes to opening the gate. Now, let's delve into the matter of the breakfast. The quality of the breakfast resembles that of a 3-star hotel. Notably, there are certain services that require payment, such as having to individually pay for an espresso coffee every day. Overall, the demeanor of the hotel staff and management mirror those associated with a 3-star or budget hotel. Ultimately, I failed to discover any appealing aspects regarding the hotel's location. In Kobuleti, hotels with superior locations and services can be found that offer a better experience at more affordable prices.

I did not stay at the resort and just had dinner. The dishes were excellent. The huge, tree patio area on the cliff overlooking the sea made outdoor dining a wonderful option. I knew my meal here would not be cheap. But I was surprised how good it was. I started with the traditional Georgian tomato salad (great sauce). I ordered it with walnuts. When I didn’t see them, I assumed they forgot to add them. The waitress explained they were finely ground into the dressing. The bowl was so big, this could easily have served 2-3 people. I then had the Black Sea sea bass. Is was opened & de-boned. Very tasty, & crispy skin. A little sauce (vinegar & ?). I little firmer than Chilean sea bass I’m used to. But still a light, flaky fish. Server was wonderful. Menu was large. And the bread, like so much Georgian bread, was wonderful. Great to soak up the extra salad dressing! Gorgeous sunset for a backdrop.

Had a brilliant time here. Coming from Ireland we didn't know what to expect but stayed four nights and were meant to visit Batumi but in the end, we didn't bother as we had such a relaxing time here. We were given a brilliant room on the 8th floor with amazing views. The reception staff were excellent, especially the guy who showed us to our room as he was the friendliest person we met in Georgia. The surrounding area is great for an explore we found the long way to the beach bar along the coast to the north, found a little outdoor place with great beer and food and then skipped down the railway line as a shortcut back! (we were very careful about the trains). We were all inclusive and maybe the food wasn't just so great but the drink was good. Though the young guy on the outdoor bar was very grumpy and very hard to interact with. Overall had a brilliant time, and enjoyed it thoroughly!

We did not like anything in this Hotel and our holiday was spoiled.We did not enjoy at all.Food was not tasty,serving cold food.We have to go every day to Batumi to find to eat. Rooms were full of different insects,not cleaning properly.Staff is not friendly with guests.

Good location but not worth it for amount of money spent. Rip off.. Food is not good. So i recommend not to get all inclusive package. Odor in halways and central area. Need cosmetic work. Need new manager possibly and interior designer. Its not upto standards of 5 stars

Super complex with great location, comfy atmosphere and stunning views on Black Sea. Stayed at Alba complex that overlooked train tunnel. Recommended for couples and families. The local restaurant is a bit overrated and no nearby alternative choice for food. Overall highly recommended with its class, customer service, environment!

A lots of cockroaches

Yesterday I have returned from Castello Mare. The hotel is just perfect! There were five of us, including the lady 82 years old and the teenager 14 years old. We have ordered in the hotel a minivan as the transfer from the airport, which costs 70 lari. A very intelligent and positive driver was waiting for us for 90 minutes because the plane was late. It took approximately 30 minutes (even less) to reach the hotel, which is situated in a very beautiful area. We have been given 714 and 713 rooms in the building Diana. 714 is a premium room with an astonishing view of the seaside. Also, both 714 and 713 had balconies with magnificent views. The rooms were very spacious, clean, with all the needed amenities. The beds were comfortable. Not too soft, not too rigid. Every night we slept with the sound of waves beneath. Marvelous music, We have ordered Half-Board. the food was very tasty. The breakfast included local premium sparkling water, good philtered coffee, and a choice of black and green tea. All meat, cheese, sweets, fruits, and vegetable assortment were fresh and tasty. The lunch always offered some new dishes local and international. Cooked with special care about guests. For example, spicy Georgian soup Kharcho was done in a moderate way, so everybody could taste it. In the evening we had dinner in Castello Mare restaurant. I was positively surprised with the prices: famous Georgian salad just 3 Euro, delicious Shkmeruli (fried chicken in milky sauce) = 5 Euro. These 6 evenings turned into a culinary festival:) It is impossible to swim in the sea at the beginning of May. However, we enjoyed pleasant walks along the seaside. The outdoor swimming pool with the seawater was cold, but the inside swimming pool was very warm. We have spent a lot of time there and in a variety of saunas. Three of us had the general massages performed by a lady - a great master. We admired the territory, which offered fantastic views. Our younger team passed by the building Alba and followed the steep staircases up the hill. There is an old ruined building in the wild forest and continues mount-path. Real adventure. We have hoped to use the railway, which goes literally beneath the hotel, but the way from the hotel to the highway is very steep - impossible for our lady, 82 years old. We had to make transfers to nearby Kobuleti (nothing special), Batumi, and of course Batumi National Park, which is another great story. Altogether it was a perfect experience, created by an intelligent, pleasant, smiling team. Everywhere from reception to room service, from the waiters to the driver we were encircled with friendly care. Unforgettable feeling! Thank You, Marika, and all the Castello Mare team! Last but not least: Castello Mare has two lifts to the seaside. One is regular, but another looks like a robotic UFO from classic science fiction.
