We are so happy we chose to stay in this wonderful place. From the location, to the beautiful building and facilities, to the helpful and charming staff, comfortable room and amazing food. We also loved the complimentary Tuk tuk tour. Everything felt just about right and more:) We definitely recommend to stay at the Eight bastion when travelling to wonderful Fort Kochi. 10/10 - can’t say enough good things. The primary thing that stands out is the service - not unlike what we’ve experienced in India and in Kochi thus far, the customer service is immaculate. Samuvel at the front desk made us feel most welcome and taken care of. When our AC remote and TV were not working, it was fixed immediately. The check in process was the best I’ve experienced: fresh hand towels and lemonade and being seated to relax after a journey. The ambiance of the hotel is amazing— love the pool/courtyard area especially. The fact that you can look out at that area from the restaurant is wonderful. We came during the festival of Onam so there were beautiful flower carpets made daily in front. Our room has a balcony/terrace overlooking the street. The bathrooms are large; the room itself is also a comfortable size. We found the bed and pillows are to be comfortable for sleeping. The AC and fan were more than enough for us travelers who like to keep their room at home at a cool temp for sleeping. Love that breakfast is included- plenty of options. We ordered an espresso and latte every morning and the lattes gave beautiful latte art. I also enjoyed their smoothies, banana bread, muffins, and hard boiled eggs. The Western omelette is the best in flavor followed by the Masala omelette. The infinity pool is so enjoyable with its perfect bath water temperature and views of the courtyard. Open from 7am - 7pm with a clock nearby. We swam late but there were only a few mosquitos. They spray the property for insects so we didn’t see a single insect in our room or restaurant the entire time, which would be unusual for Kerala. Room was changed daily and fresh sheets, towels, glasses, and filtered water provided.

Having heard so much about CGH hotels, I decided to stay here as opposed to other equally attractive options. For the amount one pays, one expects better experience, in terms of staff efficiency, room cleaning and maintenance and breakfast quality and variety. Their other hotel nearby (brunton boatyard) seems much better. They should be giving cycles for the entire duration (if booked in advance) and should facilitate in scooter rental. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful.

We stayed two nights here at the start of our trip to Kerala. It’s a very simple hotel but the staff were lovely. Food very good (we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel). They also recommended an excellent place for a massage and arranged for them to collect us. We slept well here and although the hotel is very central we didn’t have any issues with noise. Air conditioning good and not noisy. Good level of cleanliness.
