Serenity resort Amazing hotel - would highly recommend staying here. We stayed at serenity resort for 2 nights on arriving at Koh Chang from Bangkok. The location is so so idyllic and relaxing, absolutely beautiful. We also stayed on the west side of the island for a couple of nights and while it is quieter on the east side of the island (ie, there is no point in leaving the resort in the evening as there is nothing really to do on the east side after dark) this is exactly what we were after. The staff could not be more helpful and accommodating. Food and drinks at the restaurant were great and reasonably priced. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely view. As other reviews have said, if you are staying here you will likely want your own transport so you can explore. We rented a moped from the resort at a very reasonable price. If you want to rent a car make sure you have an intl driving permit (takes a few mins to obtain but must do whilst in the UK). There’s barely any traffic on this side of the island so the drive down to long beach at the south of the island felt very safe on a moped despite the hills (and would be the same in a car). The resort staff recommended us to do this and then get kayaks over to Koh ngam, which we did and was a great experience! The other option is to rent a taxi for a day (we were quoted c2500 baht for 6 hours) and they can drop you wherever you like and wait for you. Thanks again for a lovely stay at serenity resort!!

This hotel is lovely, on the beach, the bay is stunning and does not have strong waves, it’s shallow quite far out into the water and great for walks or just relaxing in. The swimming pool is also perfect if salt water isn’t your thing! There are not many shops around on this part of the island, but the hotel has great food and drinks, it’s perfect for a quiet and relaxed stay! I LOVED the Thai sweet and sour fish! The staff are very friendly and so helpful, offering a ride to the nearby waterfall and even sharing some flip flops with me because I lost mine. They also go to the main store daily at 12:00 across the bay and can take you there if you wanted to do some shopping for an hour. The chalets are great and I absolutely loved my stay here! Would most certainly return again!

Serenity is well named. A quiet luxurious stay on Koh Chang amidst great rooms, great food and great service. We’ve stayed twice now and will come again. The location is brilliant with early morning sunrises and a great beach and infinity pool. The food is the best you can get and covers a wide range of dishes. Breakfast lunch and dinner so many choices at excellent value. The whole team are happy to help. There are busier touristy resorts close by to enjoy them peace and quiet at night. This is our ‘happy place’. Thanks Steve Tiph and team. Amazing

Stunning view from the terrace sipping cocktails. Two bed Villa with rooftop jacuzzi was very spacious and comfortable. The staff are what make the resort, so friendly and helpful, from taking us on a shopping trip to taking a member of our party to hospital, nothing is too much trouble. Food is very varied, Thai, English, Mexican, tapas, all very reasonably priced. Happy hour on cocktails 4-6pm. Would definitely recommend this place.

What a beautiful setting. Serenity certainly lives up to its name. We have just spent six nights here and had the best time. Situated on the quiet side of the island away from the main tourist development, it can take 20 to 30 minutes by taxi to White Sands or beyond but everywhere is easily accessible and if you want an authentic stay with peace and serenity I would certainly recommend this resort. The owner and staff cannot do enough to make your stay as good as it can be. The modern bungalows are simply furnished but are very clean and comfortable. Most have a roof terrace with jacuzzi and lovely views across to the mainland. The food is excellent and the surroundings comfortable and attractive. This is a little gem but whisper it quietly or everyone will want to come!!!

This is a terrific small resort on the Quiet side of the island. Villas and conventional rooms, aircon, child friendly. Staff are keen smiling and the anything can be arranged..a lunch in a stilts restaurant out over the ocean with incredible fish..on your plate. A twirly fire show of your very own? Just ask. the owner is a cricket nut, but there is no TV in the bar. Yes in the rooms.

Service , staff and atmosphere as good as always. Surprised by previous review; Koh Chang is a National Park, as such there are critters. 2 big signs at the initial entrance, saying where to report; staff will then take luggage to villa/ bungalow. A wide array of trips available, one just has to ask. Trips aren’t part of an upsell, they are an available option. We have already booked for next Christmas! Says it all really, doesn’t it.

I really WANT to call Serenity perfect but some things just were not. With all the 5 star reviews perhaps my expectations were high but I couldn't help feeling a bit disappointed. I'll give a detailed account of our experience four days at Serenity Koh Chang. Check In The road is very sloped and our driver initially couldn't figure out where to let us off. We had to take our luggage down a pretty steep rocky area (where it could not be rolled) which was less than ideal. At check in we were met with a man who was smiling the entire time we were there and provided stellar service but never gave his name. Anything we asked he jumped on immediately and with a smile. Check in went smoothly and we were assisted with our bags to villa #3. The Villa Perhaps my biggest disappointment was the villa. It's very cold and impersonal in style. It doesn't "fit" at all with the gorgeous setting. There were some cleanliness concerns that I overlooked (food stains on the couch pillows). But mostly, it just was drab and many things weren't thought through. There is NO WHERE in either bathroom to store your toiletries or your dry clothing. Hooks on the door or a small shelf over the toilet would go a long way to making the otherwise nicely finished bathrooms more user friendly. The bathrooms / drainage are extremely noisy. If someone used the bathroom in the night I was wakened by the resulting gurgling in my bathroom. It's all very "bare bones". Nothing was bad but it just didn't hit the mark and I found the bathroom situation (with no where dry to place anything) to be very frustrating. Be prepared to encounter a lot of critters of all types. I expected this but I didn't expect so many inside the villa. The mourning geckos hanging out in every curtain and the bathrooms making noise all night was very annoying. I know it's hard to control but I have to question how so many geckos were getting into the villa. We even had a large tokay in ours. I have no idea where or how they were getting in because we did not leave anything open. Also, it's very poor design to have all the villa windows align with each other. I really disliked having curtains open because I was then looking either directly into another villa OR worse into the storage / workers area which was often noisy with workers and scooters going in and out. Having to close heavy black out curtains in a beach villa is not desirable. Our TV didn't work properly but that was quickly resolved. The kitchen sink faucet was wonky. The beds and linens were quite comfortable and towels were nice, plentiful and soft. The rooftop hot tub / patio area had issues. The hot tub lights never worked (we only used this one night). And during the day it was intolerable due to work going on at a neighboring villa. This was pretty upsetting as I tried multiple times to just go relax on the rooftop only to be met with the high pitch squealing of tile saws and hammers. It was anything but serene. T

We just had the most divine six nights at Serenity Resort Koh Chang Thailand. Beautiful, sumptuous, fantastic food, great facilities, amazing vistas and friendly/helpful hosts. Value was amazing! We’ve been lucky to stay in many marvellous places, none top this. In a quiet area of the Island but close enough to sample the busier White Sands area and all the island has to offer. They even arranged a travelling masseuse to visit, another highlight! An absolute ‘must’ stay again for us. So sad to leave. Thank you Owner Steve and Hist Tip and team.

Serenity resort Koh Chang. Fantastic. everything was perfect, idyllic resort with tropical feel gardens. super clean villa, comfy beds. scenery and sunsets to die for. Superb food and the most wonderful staff. Situated on the quiet side of the island but 15 minutes away from white sands beach.

This place is amazing! The food and service are so incredibly good and staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home! We stayed in a beach bungalow which had amazing views and the beds were very comfortable. No white beach (Amber instead) but that was all compensated by all the other great things! Highly recommend this resort.

Stayed here four nights. Chose because east coast of Koh Chang seemed quieter. It was. The downside being you need taxi to go anywhere. Pleasant resort, nice beach, restaurant/bar on beach. We had two adjoining rooms each with own bath (we just wanted separate beds) which was nice to spread out after 2 weeks+ on the road. Staff helpful particularly Tip who went out of her way to help us schedule a cooking class and gave us some tips for our upcoming stay in Bangkok. Food good but not excellent. Resident dog and cat a nice touch.
