The Aiyapura Koh Chang

The hotel is quite a distance from several beaches, so you'll need to rent a scooter or car to get around. However, there are a few very sharp turns on the road towards White Beach, which makes driving quite thrilling. Aside from that, this hotel is still great. It's not crowded, and you can go kayaking and paddleboarding. It's perfect for a relaxing and leisurely vacation.

I had a secluded beach tour, and Ayapura Hotel perfectly matched my criteria. Others have mentioned it's a bit old, but everything is wonderfully maintained. The grounds are being updated, the rooms are huge, and I love the wooden floors. It's all incredibly clean – I can't even remember the last time I saw such pristine, soft towels that are changed daily. The balcony/terrace is very spacious, with two sun loungers with soft mattresses and a comfy armchair, which was really convenient (I haven't encountered sun loungers on a balcony before!). We stayed in the Krishna building. There's a cool pool with a built-in bar, and an abundance of sun loungers both by the pool and on the beach – there are more relaxation spots than guests! The restaurant is good, and the breakfasts are delicious, with new dishes every day and plenty of seafood. Kayaks and SUPs are provided free of charge, so you can paddle out for snorkeling or to a wild sandy beach. You're essentially living within a national park, which is captivating. Peacocks roam around like domestic chickens; on the first day, I followed them everywhere, taking photos. We loved that you can call for a buggy to your room, and they'll take you anywhere on the property, whether it's to the restaurant, the beach, or the lobby. Others have already mentioned the shuttle service to the supermarket and White Sand Beach, and I can confirm it – you can even ask to go at off-peak times and have them wait for you. The reception area has a game room with billiards, foosball, basketball, and more. This is rare and a great touch for entertainment in such a remote hotel (I didn't visit the gym). Everything was great. It's a good hotel with decent breakfasts. One downside: the hotel is located by a small bay, and the water quality leaves a lot to be desired.
