This is such a great place to spend a few days in the forests and rivers of Cambodia. The team are all really lovely, friendly, informative and helpful. The accommodation is very comfortable. No air con but efficient fans. The lodge is focussed on minimising its environmental impact and they are endeavouring to improve this with plans to plant trees and use solar energy. Gee and the team are all very knowledgeable about the ecosystem in which they live. The trips they can organise are enjoyable, informative with a little adventure thrown in, and give a very different experience for the European traveller. We loved swimming in the river. Food was very good and atmosphere very relaxed. The road from PP to Tatai is currently under reconstruction so the journey at the moment is very bumpy and about 4 hours. The new road will make this much easier. Highly recommend!

We spent two nights at Rainbow Lodge, with absolutely zero regrets. Pi Room, Gee and the whole team have such a beautiful vision of ecotourism and above all conservation of the ecosystem around Tatai, which we found very inspiring. We were at a point in our monthlong trip where we were happy to just relax for a day or two - they understood without a word spoken and offered near round-the-clock hospitality. We did get out for a paddle with their kayaks to visit the Tatai waterfall, which was great! They also offer hikes in the area, which we would have gladly done had we not been worn out from prior days of hiking. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and very peaceful, our bungalow was spotless and comfortable and the food was of a very high quality. Add in the great conversation with our hosts, topped off by the interesting event of having lots of friendly birdwatchers visit to partake in a rare bird sighting just outside our bungalow (what luck!)…well, I suppose you get the idea that we loved our stay there! Thank you so much, Rainbow Lodge Team!

The host in the rainbow loge were the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met with beautiful rooms out looking the jungle. The food was to die for this has been my favourite ever loge! And for a low price and it really seemed like the host there cared for us

This is one of the truly great stays in my 40+ years of traveling. You can lie in a hammock by the river, listening to the birds, watching the occasional long boat go by and cooling yourself off with a swim. Or take a long boat up or down river to swim in the nearby waterfall or go kayaking in the mangrove forest, or take a guided 6-mile trek to a lake for swimming,. The masseuse will give you a 2-hour dèep tissue massage for $35, after which you can sip a Bombay Sapphire G&T for $2.50. All this comes with 3 fantastic meals a day, cooked with local, fresh ingredients. Unbelievable

We had a wonderful time at the Rainbow Lodge. Our stay at the lodge has been the highlight of our holiday in Cambodia. The passion and enthusiasm of the people working at the lodge, especially of Peron is fantastic. We were also lucky to meet Janet, the owner of the place, and it was really a pleasure to hear her telling the story of the place. The place has been strongly damaged by the jungle during the covid period and it's incredible what Peron has realized with the place after Covid. All the bungalows have been renovated and not all the pictures are already displaying the renovated ones (white bungalows). The food is delicious! You get several choices for breakfast (too many choices and that is only the start of the day). If you book a tour with them (which I strongly recommend) they also prepare a lunch for you and believe me, it is prepared with great care. Everything is packed in small boxes to keep it fresh or even warm. And than comes dinner, a three-course menu which is far too much but sooo good. We choose to do the jungle trek on our first day with Peron and Niko (the dog). It was a beautiful trek and not so difficult. The next day we went on a kayaking tour in the mangrove forest with Peron. The tour is beautiful and Peron is very good at pointing out spiders, snakes, crabs, ... Afterwards we went fishing for shells. A fun experience. We had to find them with our feet and pick them up with our toes. It doesn't work for European toes;-). The same evening they cooked the shells for dinner with some tamarind. Really delicious. The rooms are more luxurious than I expected. There is mosquito netting everywhere on the windows and good beds. There is a fan but we didn't need it. The bathroom has everything it needs except for warm water which I didn't find a real problem. Peron also helped us to arrange a taxi for our departure.

Our 3 nights at Rainbow Lodge exceeded all expectations. We had a fantastic time staying at this eco-lodge hidden in the jungle beside the stunning Tatai River. The whole place was badly damaged by nature in the 2 years it was shut for the pandemic and it has been painstakingly & sustainably rebuilt under the supervision of the wonderful manager Pi Room & his delightful family. The 7 stilted cabins are comfortable & cooled by fans. The shower is cold but don't be put off by that as it is pretty refreshing in the jungle heat. The food is delicious - fresh & local ingredients, many grown in the Lodge's garden. We especially loved the fresh fruit plate at breakfast. We did a couple of trips - particularly recommend kayaking in the mangroves, a truly memorable experience. We also went on an impromptu night hike! I had a great 90 min massage too. What made this stay really special for us was Pi Room - he was incredibly knowledgeable about the local fauna & flora and cared so passionately about the place. His enthusiasm was infectious - we couldn't have asked for a better host. This was the original eco-resort n the Tatai River. Don't hesitate to book it for an amazing jungle experience.

Came here for a second time with 3 friends for 6 days and 5 nights. The most relaxing 6 days of my life. You can take a bus from Phnom Penh ($17) or hire an SUV through the lodge ($87). You'll be dropped off at a riverbank; the lodge will have a longboat waiting to take you 15 minutes up river to the lodge. 7 bungalows in the jungle around a covered, open-air common area. This is where you'll eat a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner made from local meat, fish and produce, included in the price of your bungalow, and order fruit juices, smoothies, sodas, beer, wines and spirits, and "bar snacks." You can lounge here all day, getting up only to birdwatch though binoculars or for a magnificent two-hour massage, or you can take a kayak out on the river. The lodge will lead you on jungle hikes - long and short - or take you by longboat to waterfalls on the river or on tours to the local village or though through the mangrove swamps. The best part of all this is that the revenue and profits for the lodge support local families and producers and the village school. A stay at the lodge is an experience you will never forget.
