Situato a sud dell'isola di Ko Kood , Rim Lay è un piccolo albergo a conduzione famigliare. Si trova proprio a ridosso della bellissima spiaggia ( una delle più belle dell'isola a mio parere) e dispone solo di una decina di bungalow di cui alcuni fronte mare. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile e l'annesso piccolo ristorante offre buon cibo, semplice e non costoso. Si possono noleggiare anche i motorini, cosa che consiglio se si vuole visitare in modo indipendente e senza alcun problema le belle spiagge dell'isola, il villaggio dei pescatori e le cascate dell'interno. I bungalow sono semplici e senza pretese ma, puliti e ben strutturati con una buona doccia e servizi. La responsabile parla un buon inglese e si adopera per trasferimenti e prenotazioni dei traghetti per la terra ferma ( Thailandia e Cambogia) o per la vicina isola di Ko Chang. Il periodo in cui ho soggiornato non era dei migliori ( e ne ero consapevole..) e quindi il mare era sempre abbastanza mosso e non ideale per nuotare. È una struttura a mio avviso adatta a persone senza fronzoli e a coppie a cui piace godersi la natura ed il mare, visto che nelle immediate vicinanze non vi sono centri degni di tale nome. Non ho dato il massimo del punteggio poichè la spiaggia è infestata da moscerini voracissimi che dall'imbrunire si mettono all'opera e a poco valgono ( almeno nel mio caso) i vari repellenti che la struttura mette a disposizione....ripeto , forse era il periodo sbagliato, forse è la vicinanza di una piccola laguna d'acqua stagnante ma....... è una problematica da prendere in considerazione. Prezzo molto interessante rispetto ad altre strutture più o meno in zona. Located in the south of the island, Rim Lay is a small, family-run hotel. It is located right next to the beautiful beach (one of the most beautiful on the island) and has a dozen bungalows, some of which are facing the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the attached small restaurant offers good food, simple and not expensive. You can also rent scooters, which I recommend if you want to visit independently and without any problem the beautiful beaches of the island, the fishing village and two waterfalls . Bungalows are simple and unpretentious but, clean with a good shower and amenities. The manager speaks good English and works for transfers and ferry reservations to the mainland or to the nearby island of Ko Chang. The period in which I stayed was not the best (and I was aware of it ..) and therefore the sea was always quite rough and not ideal for swimming. In my opinion, it is a structure suitable for people without frills and couples who like to enjoy nature and the sea, since in the immediate vicinity there are no centers worthy of the name.I did not give the maximum score because the beach is infested with voracious midges that from dusk get to work. and the various repellents that the structure makes available are of little value (at least in my case).
