The Sunshine Resort

A very cozy hotel with beautiful, well-maintained grounds on one of the most beautiful and uncrowded beaches on Koh Kood Island. The beach area is well-equipped: sun loungers, hammocks, swings, and free kayaks. Mosquitoes can be found in the evening, but there are very few here. The service is good, the staff is always available and willing to help. Breakfasts in the restaurant are good, somewhere between breakfast and lunch. Lunch is practically unnecessary after such a breakfast. The sea is clean and calm, the entry into the water is long, and the sand runs the entire length of the beach (1.5 km), making it suitable for small children.

I really liked the beach and the sea, despite the fact that there was a wave by lunchtime. Well-kept grounds, lots of greenery, the rooms are so-so, but if you go for 3-7 days and if you don’t pick on things, then everything is fine!

I was in this hotel 14 years ago. Since then I have dreamed of returning. Almost deserted beach, sea and sand, like flour - complete relaxation. You can say that the rooms are small, but why sit in the room in such a place. Of the shortcomings, I can mention the lack of a kettle. But you need to understand that when we were on the island for the first time, there were no roads and the air conditioners worked only at night and at lunchtime. So if you want to go to a paradise island in Thailand, then this is the best beach on Koh Kood.

Overall, I can't say anything bad about the hotel. We arrived from the pier around 1:00 PM and were checked in within 20 minutes. The rooms are simple but cozy. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Kayaks are free, but paddles require a 100 baht deposit. The beach has plenty of sun loungers and shade, a shower, and a foot wash. The breakfast restaurant is open from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM; the food is a bit on the quirky side; they should focus more on more European cuisine in the morning. Lunch is good here, with a sea view, and the prices are reasonable. The portions aren't huge, but they're not expensive either. The mango shake I tried here was amazing, with a minimum of ice. Bikes are available for rent for 300 baht with a passport deposit. They can also arrange any transfer around the island at reasonable prices. Ao Prao is the sunset side, so be prepared for beautiful sunsets. What I really didn't like was the lack of proper ventilation in the bathroom. There were a lot of mosquitoes, a lot. Besides the mosquitoes, I got bitten by some kind of pest on the first day. My entire back and arms were covered in bites. It's been three days since the bites subsided—no medications have helped. Some people think it's those same sand flies. The area needs to be treated and this serious issue needs to be addressed. It's possible he was bitten on the first day when my friends and I decided to clean the beach; it was littered with trash and no one seemed to care. Thanks to the hotel staff—they provided cleaning bags. Overall, we're moving to another hotel without any bad feelings, but if we come to Ao Prao again, we'll be looking for a different hotel.

Great location on the southernmost beach of Ko Kood. Spacious and very clean bungalows with equally clean bathrooms. Good value for money. Large selection of food at moderate prices. We weren't so impressed with the breakfast...quite monotonous. No ice cream, no cocktails. If you're looking for peace and quiet on the (supposedly) most beautiful beach of Ko Kood, this is the place for you.

Это моё первое посещение острова Ко Куд и я осталась в восторге и хочу вернуться снова! Плюсов очень много: отель на берегу, все в шаговой доступности. Ресторан, пляж, массаж. Хочу отметить доброту и внимательность управляющего отеля Wiruch. Когда я решила поехать, мест в отеле не было. Я в отчаянной надежде написала напрямую на электронную почту и мне ответили: мы найдём вам номер, но вам придётся жить 2 дня в одном бунгало, 4 дня во втором и сколько-то дней в третьем, то есть постоянно переезжать. Я на все согласилась и что вы думаете? Меня заселили в лучший бунгало рядом с моими друзьями и никто меня никуда не заставил переезжать! Они как-то все переиграли! Пляж очень хороший, есть отливы, но тем не менее я любитель поплавать осталась довольна глубиной. Лежаков хватает, большинство из них находятся в естественной тени деревьев. Ресторан предлагает блюда тайской кухни по очень умеренным ценам: жареный рис с креветками 120 бат, креветки/ рыба/морепродукты 170 бат, пиво 0,33 60 бат. Массаж тайский 400 бат, oil massage 500 бат. Можно взять байк в аренду за 300 бат/сутки. Вайфай работает нормально, даже на пляже. Завтраки разнообразные: омлет, яйца, ветчина, сосиски, овощи, фрукты ( ананас, арбуз, драгон фрут), оладушки. Всегда есть тайская еда: пара супов, жареная лапша, рис, рыба, курица, свинина -это даже больше чем нужно) . Единственный минус -это далеко добираться( 5 часов на автобусе из Бангкока до Трата, потом час на лодке, потом час на тук-тук до отеля), но это стоит того! А когда ты в кругу друзей, то и долгая дорога не чувстется))
