Reviews of Phanganist Hostel

The Phanganist has all the makings of a great hostel, the pool is big and the bar is a great place to socialise with a lively atmosphere. However, when we arrived we discovered that our ten bed dorm had been turned into a 14 bed dorm and despite asking many times, the hostel staff were unable to provide us with curtains for our beds even though other beds in our room had them. The cleanliness was poor, the showers were dirty and unlit, there was rubbish everywhere and the toilets were repugnant if they even worked. Furthermore there was an obvious lack of security with our room having no lock and the roof had holes in it that dripped water in when it rained. The upside was that many of the volunteer staff were very fun and friendly although staff were not always present when we were seeking help and it was difficult to
