Conrad Koh Samui

I stumbled upon the 'most beautiful Conrad' – truly, 'the Conrad with the most stunning sunsets.' First off, the hotel's airport transfer is super cool; they even greet you with a Conrad-branded coconut! After a winding drive up the mountain, we entered the Conrad's grounds. What greeted us was an incredibly beautiful panoramic view of the sea and sky, along with a magnificent elephant flower wall crafted from bougainvillea. Check-in was completely stress-free, with a Chinese-speaking butler ready to assist. While waiting, you can snap some photos of the breathtaking 270-degree ocean view. Rooms: All room types (except for two- and three-bedroom suites) come with a private pool, and their size and layout are largely similar. The price difference mainly depends on the room's elevation and location. Even the basic rooms offer unparalleled views of the azure sea and sky. I booked a Premium Sea View room for my stay. You can see the specific layout and amenities in the photos. Since it was our wedding anniversary during our visit, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a surprise setup, paying attention to every detail, which added to the romance. The king-size bed faces directly onto the infinity pool and the seamless sea-sky horizon. Waking up to such a beautiful view every morning was amazing! I absolutely loved the hotel's mattress – I wish I could buy it to take home! This hotel offers a private ocean for sunsets. Every evening at sunset, the golden light paints the infinity pool. In that moment, it's hard to tell where the sky ends and the sea begins; you feel completely enveloped by the sunset glow. Hotel Restaurants: The dining options are diverse, so you don't have to worry about not finding something you like – there's always something to suit your taste. Plus, breakfast offers unlimited coconuts! Activities: You can eat, drink, and play right at the hotel. Take a stroll down to the private beach, or book a longtail boat. We opted for a private boat charter, and the captain was incredibly attentive, haha! The entire sea area felt like ours. The beach quality at the hotel is average, with many hidden rocks in the water, so it's not ideal for swimming in the sea. Among the hotel's activities is a visit to their organic farm, where you can interact with some small animals. Other activities include yoga, making herbal compresses, and various water sports. They even gave us a small sea turtle souvenir at check-out.

Our entire family fell ill a day after checking into the hotel, and I was the worst, suffering from severe vomiting and diarrhea, and extreme weakness. We had originally booked for three nights but had to check out a day early. We paid for a taxi to Bangkok Hospital Samui, which was nearly an hour's drive from the hotel. The doctor diagnosed us with ****, and I received an IV drip and medication, costing nearly 10,000 baht. When we checked out, we discussed a refund for the unused night with the hotel. They told me to go to the hospital first and initiate the refund through Trip.com. However, when Trip.com later processed the refund request, the hotel rejected it. To this day, the hotel has not refunded us for the unused night. The **** was also entirely the hotel's responsibility. I requested compensation for my medical expenses, but the hotel has been delaying and has not responded. Our family came to Koh Samui hoping for a wonderful vacation. We chose this hotel because of our trust in Conrad, but our holiday was completely ruined as a result. I will continue to appeal until I receive the refund and compensation from the hotel, as well as a reasonable explanation for their food safety issues.

Hailed as the most beautiful Conrad in the world, this hotel is built into the hillside with a beautifully tiered design. Every room boasts unparalleled views, making it the best spot on the island to watch the sunset. Its location, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, provides exceptional tranquility. The hotel offers Chinese butler service, providing meticulous and highly responsive care for every detail, from check-in to check-out. Transportation within the hotel relies on golf carts. The breakfast also deserves praise; although the variety isn't vast, the quality is excellent. The only minor drawback is that the hotel is a bit older, so some facilities are relatively dated. Perhaps due to environmental reasons, I couldn't find disposable slippers in the suite. Overall, I'm very satisfied, and it's definitely a top choice for couples!
