Hotels in Mae Nam Beach, Koh Samui

My wife and I recently stayed at Fairhouse Villas and Spa for our Honeymoon. We stayed 8 nights, 3 nights in an ocean view suite, then the remaining 5 in a beach front Villa. 

Things we loved!
- THE GROUNDS AND ROOMS: Fairhouse is IMMACULATE. It is a literal tropical paradise, it is clear that the staff take great pride in their workplace and work diligently to make it a beautiful place to stay and work. The villa itself we stayed in was stunning, great facilities, the bathrooms are beautiful, the pool and cabana are magical, the bed was VERY comfortable and pillows were of high quality 
- BREAKFAST: Fairhouse provide a comprehensive daily breakfast buffet, Complete with a chef that will make your eggs the way you like. It was a relief knowing we could attend breakfast every morning and eat well in a tranquil outdoor restaurant (this also saved us from spending unnecessarily travelling elsewhere to eat out)
- THE POOL (and poolside service): Though we had a private pool for most of our honeymoon (which was also awesome). We loved the atmosphere of the main pool area. The beds were comfortable, with ample shade. There were options to face both the ocean or the pool and to sit poolside or on sand. There was a swim up bar, pool toys and ocean toys such as kayaks and paddle boards that were of free use to hotel guests. 
- TRANSFER SERVICE: my wife and I chose not to hire motorcycles or cars, though these were readily available for hire through the hotel. They also offered a comprehensive transfer service to all the popular destinations around the island. It was easy to organise and very affordable. 
- SPIRIT AND ACTIONS OF STAFF: it was so pleasant to be greeted by broad smiling face everywhere we went, offering a cheerful “Sawadee krap/ka”. Restaurant staff were friendly and attentive, particularly the egg chef, who makes a mean omelette and had such a kind face, the bar staff who are EXPERT cocktail makers (I recommend the Singapore Sling and Mai Thai), the concierge who on our last night drove us up to the W hotel for our final meal (betrayal, I know!) 

Things we didn’t love: 
- our honeymoon got off to a rocky start, when we were left at the airport by the hotel. We had booked and paid for an airport pick up and we had to call the hotel - who made us prove we had booked it before coming to pick us up. (We were offered a free transfer to Bophut Fisherman’s Village to make up for this mistake). 
- inconsistency of the restaurant. Apart from breakfast (and the cocktails) we had mixed experiences with the restaurant. We had some quite good food (club sandwich and and EXCELLENT chicken satay) we also had some quite average meals. The wait times for room service, cocktails and food was often quite long - we understand that there is one restaurant/bar serving a whole resort, but we were often waiting 20/25 minutes for cocktails made in a bar a 20 second walk from the pool. We chose to only eat at the restaurant once for dinner - consequently. 
- THE

Relaxing hotel with direct access to the sandy beach. Please note that the shoreline is completely submerged at high tide, but you can lie on the sun loungers on the sand on site. In winter, the sea is quite calm, it is quite possible to swim. The territory for Samui hotels is quite large, almost a tropical forest. The rooms are spacious. The Deluxe with garden view was even more like the villas in terms of location. Separate houses near the beach, restaurant and second pool - there is not much privacy there. Easy access to other beaches. Walk to the ring road 5-7 minutes. There's a shop there. Prices for food in the hotel are average.

The environment is well protected. This is our second stay. Compared with 2019, the facilities are a bit old, especially the room is too humid, the bedding feels wet, and the air conditioner is too loud, even the smallest setting. It would be nice if there is a dehumidifier. The catering level of the three restaurants is still good. The swimming pool is quite big in Koh Samui. The spa is very good.

This resort is just delightful. Beautiful spacious rooms - really loved the outdoor bathroom. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I stayed one night as I was catching the ferry to Koh Tao ( the pier is super close to the resort). I wish I had booked in more time. The infinity pool overlooking the beach is divine. So too is the restaurant. The buffet breakfast offers extensive options and my dinner was perfect. I loved that it was a tranquil oasis tucked away. Perfect.

Amazing place with the wonderful staff (kind,helpful,friendly and always smile on the face).Welcoming delicious coconut ice cream include!I booked the room with the ocean view - amazing view,comfortable,luxury one.Hotel is super clean.The breakfast was always fresh including the fresh tropical fruits,drinks etc.Also the hotel has the restaurant - prepared always the fresh local and non local food.Rhe hotel has also clean and nice swimming pool,privete beach witch is just down the stairs.The hotel also offers free towels for the beach,no need to bring your own.The Fisherman village is also not far away.Around this place you can take the taxi or ask the hotel staff and visit places around like Big Buddha etc. I fully recommended!!!

We came for our honeymoon we were amazed with the hotel view the staff also from nancy that she checked us in and explain in details every thing she also came with to the villa to make sure that everything was fine. Breakfast was amazing lucky was very very nice along with nat there service was amazing all the staff were very friendly the chef also are accommodating and smiling I will not forget also WK from sales she made sure that our honeymoon goes prefect Emmy helped us a-lot with all the information around the city she gave us a very good recommendations Iyan made sure to book for us in the jungle village even it was hard to find a place and also a transportation going to the massage in ritz and also to the restaurant The bogy driver nine very smily and accommodating every time taking us to the room or from the room Over all the staff of the hotel made our honeymoon very special thank you so much everyone

This stay was absolutely perfect. The team at Explorar really thinks about all the details, from the moment you walk in all the way until check out. Things I really loved: - the food! breakfast is amazing. - beds are very comfortable. - rooms are beautiful, and intentionally designed. I loved that the rooms were already cool when you first walk in, with your welcome drink in hand, and lightly fragranced with an essential oil blend. - it's quiet, and you have ample privacy. - good mix of workouts every morning, and a beautiful gym. There's a co-working space for anyone who needs to get some work done, great wifi and really good coffee. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an incredible stay!

Hotel service is very good, privacy is good But the beach is very average, don't go into the sea The swimming pool is good, but it is inconvenient to go out and you need to call a car Choose between privacy and convenience

This hotel is located out of town on the far end of Mae Nam beach, close to the ferry terminal, it is well presented with a lovely pool over looking a small piece of private beach. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the accommodation is nice with rooms and bungalows available, our bungalow had a fridge, safe, good bed, hot shower and complimentary tea, coffee and water. Breakfast was included and was very good, overall the hotel was good value for money.

The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the ferry (ferry with cars). We booked 01/11/2024 for 2000 Baht with breakfast, so he will come. It's not worth more. Entrance to the beach from the hotel premises. Swimming here for children and those who cannot swim will not be convenient, there is a sharp cliff after 1.5-2 meters of entry into the water. Breakfast for 3, very poor. But I’m fine, since at home I have the same breakfast (egg or omelet, vegetables, tea or coffee). Near the hotel there is a construction site and a canal. Port for those without a car. Parking for 3-4 cars. Laundry 90 Baht, washing is bad. It’s better to rent it in shopping arcades for 30-60 Baht. We had dinner at the hotel, the cooking was bad. Stayed here for one night. It's not worth living in this hotel for 5-7-10-14 days.
