Sairee Beach
Offering a range of rooms and pricing our deluxe double allowed for a very comfortable couple of weeks. The resort is not new but is in good condition, our room came with a comfortable double bed, TV (Netflix) a small fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and daily bottled (glass) water. The bathroom was generous in size and included double basins, a wardrobe & storage, the shower was good and the water was always hot. The resort picked us up and dropped us back to the pier as part of the cost of accommodation. What else did we enjoy, Air conditioning, outdoor table and chairs, pool with a swim up bar, beach front position and access, on site restaurant & bar, on site massage, dive school, good wifi. In the evenings the resort was quiet compared to some yet still close to the centre of the town (Sairee junction across the road from reception). At that junction take the road up the hill 650 metres to find the large supermarket “Smile Mart” for all food requirements, wine, spirits and beer by the case. While heading that way check out “Pork Leg restaurant” a great place for good affordable food and drinks. If your room comes with free breakfast, Morning View up on the main road is your best option. Walking onto the beach and turning right look for the hanging decorations, bean bags and lights of the O’chai beach bar & restaurant a great spot to relax and enjoy the beach, the cool vibe, dinner, a drink and the sunset. The lovely setting of this on beach restaurant and bar will draw you in, the quiet music, good service and great food will keep you coming back.

The Paradise Koh Tao Resort I was saying to my daughter how, for me, a 5 star hotel is not just about the quality of the room or building or the food or even the staff. It’s about the overall experience. Value for money, comfort, fun. We were met at the pier with our cases carried for us to a songthaews. We were met at the grand hotel by Koko who explained that there was a power cut. No electricity but he was smiling and so sincere it was not a problem for us. We were walked to our room by Koko and a colleague. They carried our cases. The room was just being finished with cleaning and we went into the massive room with a double and single bed. No AC because of power cut. It was funny with Koko explaining to us how it worked without being able to show us. My daughter and I then went to the pool which was absolutely amazing. We had the whole pool to ourselves for the afternoon. An elderly Thai couple came and we took some pictures for them. Then a German (or South African) couple. The pool and area was big enough that we weren’t in each others way. Able to relax, peace and have fun. We then ordered some ice cream and when the electricity came on we then ordered lunch; an omelette, a coconut chicken soup and red curry. It was absolutely delicious! (About 600BAHT). My daughter then showered and I had a bath on the balcony! Yes, a bath on the balcony, Bubbles bowing down the street. it was amazing! We then went down to the lobby and were driven free of charge into Koh Tao. We had a wonderful time in Koh Tao which is really alive again since covid. We then paid 500B for a cab back. We slept in the beautiful air conditioned room. The following morning we had breakfast (250B each) and were served again by Su (who was always helpful and smiling). There were other staff members (Myanmar) we didn’t get their names but thank you to them as well. Everyone was smiling, friendly, trying their best and running around for us. We then went on a snorkelling tour and when we came back went to our room which had been spotlessly cleaned with fresh towels etc. We then showered and went for dinner inside the restaurant because it was raining outside. For dinner we had Ka Pow (prawns/basil). Red Curry. Sweet and Sour Pork, coconut chicken soup (again). 4 drinks. It cost 870 Baht. The food at this place was probably the best of our entire trip. Unbelievably tasty I wanted to thank the chef. We then went and played a game of pool in the bar and then went back to the room and fell instantly asleep. The following morning a songthaews had been arranged for 8am to take us to the pier. The end! So, the night before we are at Suranthiya Koh Phangan and they are very similar. Only Suranthiya is about £350 per night and this place was about £40. I think in the 1990’s/2000’s this was Koh Tao’s Suranthiya. The place is a little bit old and weathered but it’s grand and fascinating with incredible view points and obvious history. The ambi

We originally booked a fan room above the dive shop. When we arrived and realized how hot that was going to be, we asked to be moved to the beach side bungalows with air conditioners. It was well worth the extra price per night. The difference in the bed comfort, the pillows, and the spaciousness of the room and bathroom was pretty dramatic. We had a king bed (two full beds pushed together) and it wasn't as uncomfortable as it sounds. We slept very well each night. The thick curtains completely blocked out most of the light and the air conditioner worked perfectly. We had a fridge and safe in the room and the resort provided 2 bottles of water every day when they cleaned the room. We had a view of the pool and beach. The morning dives leave from the beach right there at the resort making it very convenient to have multiple dives per day. The pricing was reasonable and similar to other resorts in the area, but this place had more of a feeling of camaraderie. We really enjoyed hanging out with the other divers and the employees. The resort is close enough to town to be within walking distance so we went out most every day for shopping/massages/lunch. The restaurant attached to the resort has an extensive menu that is well priced with inexpensive drink specials during happy hour. The pool table is free to use (not the case with other bars in town.) Have Coco make you a margarita and play a game of pool with you (ask him what his favorite shot is.) When it was time for us to leave, the receptionist sat down with us to give us travel tips and places to see for the rest of our time in Thailand. She was very friendly and helpful. We feel like we hit the jackpot with this resort. It had everything we needed, a dive center where I could complete my OW and AOW certifications, restaurant, bar, beach and pool. We will absolutely put this on our list of places to stay in the future when we travel to Thailand again.

Idyllic location and on a good beach, the worst is the garbage on the beach and sea... with some improvements it could be a 10, the breakfast is good, something else! They pick you up at the port upon arrival and give you a 10

Loves this place so much we booked extra nights on Room was cleaned and amenities replaced every day, gorgeous resort, big pool, really comfy beds. There are shops and restaurants near by but I would suggest a bike otherwise the walk into Sairee is very long but only 10 mins on a bike! The hotel rent bikes out and it is very reasonably priced. The hotel also offered a transfer to and from the hotel to the port for free. Great stay Thankyou so much we will be back such value for money !!

Wow. Where do I even begin. The fisherman is a literal paradise on earth! I’ve stayed in many accommodations in country’s all over the world, and in Thailand, and never have I ever stayed anywhere that’s as beautiful, relaxing and divine as the Fisherman. We were welcomed at reception by a lovely couple. All the staff were quick to help us out with anything. Multiple times they went out of their way to help us even if it was an inconvenience for them and were happy to do so. The decorations at the location were fisherman themed and were elegant, quirky and picturesque. There was lots of tropical plants everywhere that gave it a jungle and adventurous feel. The rooms were basic but aesthetic. They were clean and comfortable, with fresh water and toilet paper being brought to your room daily. The infinity pool infront of the stunning beach was breathtaking. There’s a swing on the beach which is perfect if you want to get an Instagram photo (as vain as it sounds haha). Next door to the accommodation you can hire kayaks, snorkelling equipment or even book to go out diving! We really enjoyed hiring snorkelling equipment and kayaking to shark bay just around the island… we even saw a turtle! We enjoyed many drinks, smoothies and food which was an absolute treat. No meal disappointed. The food is so cheap and affordable especially for the quality. It’s insane! We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the pool bar/restaurant everyday as we didn’t see the point in going anywhere else! Why go anywhere when you can have an incredible view, unmatched food and spectacular staff? (Absolutely recommend the mango smoothie to enjoy by the pool DELICIOUS!) They have domestic dogs and cats on the property that were super chilled and friendly. As I’m an animal lover this completed my stay! Overall, I could write an essay about reasons I absolutely adore this place. I would LOVE to go back and I would 100% recommend it to anyone staying or planning to stay in Koh Tao! It will not disappoint!!
