Lub d Koh Tao Tanote Bay

It’s on the other side of the island, so if you want to go to the “downtown” it’s about $15 USD each way. That adds up. The sand is very rocky and uncomfortable on the feet but once you get in the ocean, it’s nice water but salty. Service was mid. They would talk about us in Thai laugh, and it would get awkward. We went to the restaurant one night well before last call and the server was mad and frustrated that we came to eat. Gave us so much attitude for no reason. All in all, it was an ok experience, it’s a one and done for me. Would stay somewhere else next time

I had an amazing stay at LUB-D Tanote Bay Hotel in Koh Tao! The service was outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious. The whole team was super helpful and friendly — especially Dear, who greeted us with a big smile and made us feel so welcome. The rooms were spotless, and the direct access to beautiful Tanote Bay is just incredible. One of the best hotels I’ve seen in Koh Tao — highly recommend it!

Perfect location, beautiful variety of Thai and healthy foods, very attractive and friendly

I booked this sea-view room with my girl friend during February and it was amazing! The room itself was cozy and impeccably clean, offering a stunning view of Tanote Bay that made our stay truly special. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service from the staff. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. A special shoutout to K.Dear, K.Ting, and K.Kiat, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience.

The staff were kind and polite and at times helpful; however, I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay, especially considering the high price. The breakfast system is inadequate for the rate charged. There were no oats or cereals, no maple syrup, and guests are allowed to order only one à la carte dish. If a single guest pays for a room for two, they are still restricted to one dish, which does not make sense given that the room is charged at the full double-occupancy price for one person. There was also a serious issue with the bathroom. There was a strong smell coming from the drain. Housekeeping attempted to fix it by lighting a menthol solution on top of the drain, which made the odor significantly worse. The fumes were overwhelming, and I developed a headache and dizziness when i entered the room due to the strong vapors as the windows are closed. This was unprofessional and potentially hazardous to health!! I was eventually moved to another room, but I had to move all my belongings myself risking my health. Although the room was changed, the new room was not good compared to my original one, and I did not sleep well. Despite my complaint, there was no accountability, and no refund or compensation offered. Additionally, the number of transfers to the city center is very limited. Given the high price of the stay, more frequent transfers should be provided. The organized activities also leave room for improvement. Overall, the property may be suitable for a very short stay of one or two nights, but I would not choose to stay here again….besides the beach was also not fully clean and full of plastic. They try to clean but i have been to better and cleaner beached in Ko Tao.

The hotel matches the description: a cozy bay, good service, tasty breakfast, and a great location close to nature. We came mainly for snorkeling, but during these two days there were small waves and poor visibility — something impossible to predict. The forest bungalows with one bathroom shared between two rooms are tiny. We booked both rooms since there were three of us, and that worked fine, but sharing the bungalow with strangers would be questionable. Soundproofing in the bungalows is weak. We could hear a lot at night — frogs and other wildlife were singing all night long. Bring earplugs if you need silence. Breakfast was delicious, although some items listed on the menu were not available. Dinner in the evening was also quite good. The transfer picked us up from the pier and brought us safely to the hotel. We used the same transfer on the way back, but it was paid — the hotel offers one free ride. On the beach, there are indeed very few sun loungers and chairs for all guests. There are a couple of nice cafes on the beach for variety, but during the day many tourists come and it can be hard to find a place to sit. Overall, we had a great two-day stay.

It was amazing time in Lub D hotel in Koh Tao. Super friendly staff provided support on every step: transfer from and to pier, new and clean rooms, very good breakfasts, every day some interesting entertainment, swimming pool, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, etc. Tanote bay is tropical paradise. Amazing snorkeling starts immediately when you step in water. Also you can find several good restaurants on the beach with affordable prices. Only one disadvantage - always not enough days in this lovely place.

Absolutely wonderful impressions!) Very kind, helpful staff, just good people) Incredibly clean, cozy, cool pool. One of the best bays for snorkeling outside the window. Very hearty and delicious breakfasts, like in the best restaurants, a la carte. Feelings like at a very good and expensive resort with its own beach and sun beds, We were left with very warm impressions, if possible, we will definitely come back!)
