Reviews of Hotels in Kortrijk

First the good part, the hotel is near the motorway for a stopover, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. But the restaurant is ridiculously expensive and the service is awful. For examples starters are over €15 and main courses were high €20s - I don't mind paying this for a quality dining experience but this is in essence a motorway stopover. We ordered a vegetable wok (the only other vegetarian dish was not available) - which turned out to be a pile of lasagne with almost no vegetables. When I pointed this out to the waiter he just grunted. This Ibis certainly falls far short of the standards we have found at other Accor hotels.

We stayed for 2 nights early October. It is less than 5 min walk to the train and bus stations - very convenient!! We were helped by 2 different ladies during our stay (at check-in and then later when we had some questions). Both were super friendly, explained things very clearly and offered great help. We had a premium room - roomy and comfortable - met all our needs during our stay. Excellent bed as usual in Ibis. Very clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast with fresh-squeezed OJ, coffee machines, variety of cheese, deli meats, eggs, etc etc etc. Plenty of seats, too, and more than we could eat for sure! Close to market, ATM, eateries. We didn't have time to do see Kortrijk, since we were mainly there to visit Ieper and Kuurne. We are loyal to Ibis (and other Accor family hotels) -this one certainly meets/exceeds the expectation. Would return for sure to spend more time there in the future.

Stayed here over 2 days for work (was in room 19) and it was bad. Hotel advertisers itself as 4 star which it certainly is not, while the hotel is modern in design that's where the problem is. There's a lack of usable sockets in some rooms, no safe, no coffee or tea making facilities, no iron, no hair dryer on the wall is some sort of lcd panel for turning the lights on and off which was difficult to use, the air con made such a racket in my room and didn't work, the shower floor is some kind of composite material with no grip so when it gets wet is very slippy, a lot of the rooms have a wall of glass instead of a window which faces other rooms so everyone can see everyone else including when your in the shower or using the toilet even if the net curtain is shut! There's no restaurant or room service for evening meals with no real selection close by either (remember this is a 4 star) and no late night bar unless you're staff in which case you can drink all night. One of my colleagues had some sort of plastic cover over her fire/smoke alarm in the 2 days she was there so obviously room checks are not made fully. Overall a very disappointing couple of days with lackluster staff in a warm and gloomy concrete box.

Stayed here for 7 nights for business, the hotel is clearly geared towards the business traveler but I found it disappointing that for the same price you get very different quality of rooms. The first week I was put on the 3rd floor and my room was very small and dated with tiny bathroom and old unsightly carpet with the furniture looking like left overs from different ages/rooms. The second week I was on the first floor and the room was so much bigger and better with tiled floor and newer bathroom, it looked like a different hotel to be honest! That room was very hot though with heating coming from the floor I think that made it quite stuffy and the noisy AC couldn’t help much. The food was good at breakfast and dinner so that’s the main positive. I wouldn’t stay here again if I could help it.

My wife and I stayed at the Center Hotel for two nights in June 2019. Although the hotel doesn't have a car park of its own, there's a large underground public car park conveniently located about three minutes walk away. The hotel is brilliantly located, almost in the town's main square, so there are plenty of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. Our room on the fourth floor was very bright and nicely presented, with large windows (that open wide - very unusual in this health and safety age) looking out onto the street. However, it had a bit of an unfinished feel to it. There were no bedside tables, only one picture on the extensive white walls and, strangely, nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom. Speaking of which, this room had one of the increasingly popular open plan bathroom layouts, which personally I am not a fan of. As much as I enjoyed staying at the Center Hotel, that might have been a deal breaker for me if I'd known about it before we arrived. I'm happy to report that the soundproofing in the room was excellent and street sounds were almost inaudible with the windows closed. Because there was so much stuff nearby, we didn't sample breakfast in the hotel, so unfortunately I can't report on that. Basically, if the open plan bathroom style doesn't bother you then this is a really great place to stay.
