We stayed in September 2023. When we arrived late at night we were given a sandwich and apple as the restaurant was closed. Perfectly adequate however some other guests were complaining about it. One of the couples who were on the same transfer had been given the wrong room to which all the other checking in guests had to stand and listen as they complained loudly and aggressively. The poor guy on reception didn’t stand a chance with this pair! Anyway, we were given directions to our rooms (no buggy ride for us). The room was ok, a bit dated but it wasn’t an issue for us. Our view was of the mountains at the back so we were happy with this. Housekeeping did a great job and our room was always clean and we always had our water restocked. The food, plenty of choice but a bit repetitive after the first week. We went to both the Italian and Mediterranean while we were there. The Italian was nice, food was good and we found the manager of this restaurant really friendly and helpful. The Mediterranean was excellent, great food, great service and beautiful setting. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Drinks - these are the worst all inclusive drinks we’ve ever had. The beer was ok, the wine was dreadful and the cocktails were weak and very sweet. You could pay extra if you wanted to buy a bottle of wine which we did. Before going, we read the reviews about how friendly the staff are. Unfortunately we didn’t see this, I do agree that they seem to have their favourites. It really surprised me after reading the glowing reviews and I felt a bit disappointed. The only ones we thought were friendly to us was the Italian restaurant manager and Constantine in the main bar. The two ladies who book you into the a la carte restaurants said hello when we went into the main restaurant but weren’t very welcoming. A couple of times they had a table of drinks that they were giving out as you arrived such as Prosecco and ouzo but we were never once offered these. Don’t get me wrong, they weren’t rude, just not friendly. We did have an unpleasant experience in the lobby bar when one of the waiters told us if we wanted one of the bottles of wine on the wine list, we could go fetch it ourselves from the Italian restaurant as they didn’t have it in the lobby bar. Not what you’d expect to be told when it’s waiter service. The area for the entertainment was very crowded and it was hard to get a seat where you could watch it. A big shoutout for the Tenors, they were fantastic and we loved listening to them. We got the bus a few times to Kos Town, well worth doing. There’s also a lovely little family run restaurant just down the road that’s worth a visit. Overall this hotel is beautiful, the decor is lovely and it’s very clean. I’d recommend it but just don’t go with such high expectations as we had about friendly staff and decent drinks. We’d rather have gone full board and pay for premium drinks.
