Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu

My stay here was incredibly satisfying. The hotel recently opened, so all the facilities are brand new and spotless, with a fantastic design throughout. Both the public areas and the rooms are perfect for taking photos. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, making every meal a pleasant experience. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive to details. A special thank you to the front desk staff member named Lin and the restaurant hostess, both of whom speak fluent Chinese. The hotel's location is a huge plus, as Gaya Street is within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient. This is definitely the place to stay when visiting Kota Kinabalu!

The hotel service was fantastic. The lady at the front desk even upgraded us to a higher floor. The breakfast was good, and it was even more enjoyable to sit outside and eat while watching the sea view. The location is convenient to everything, and Gaya Street is less than a ten-minute walk away. Most shops around here close quite early at night, but luckily there's a bar on the 23rd floor where we could relax.

The room was very spacious with a well-designed layout. The soundproofing was excellent; I couldn't hear any car or motorcycle noise from the street. The gym facilities were comprehensive, and the pool was very clean. Five-star recommendation!

The room was very clean with a large balcony. Being on a higher floor, it didn't feel humid at all. The location is excellent, very close to both the pier and Gaya Street. The front desk service was great, and breakfast was delicious. Overall, a perfect stay!

My friend and I chose the Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu for our 4-day, 3-night self-guided trip to Kota Kinabalu, and it was absolutely the right choice! The location is truly unbeatable. It's just a few minutes' walk to Jesselton Point, making island hopping incredibly convenient. Gaya Street, where you can grab laksa, and the Durian Night Market under the flyover are also just a ten-minute walk away. After a long day of exploring, it's super easy to head back to the hotel and relax. We booked a standard room, which had a balcony with city views, and it was perfectly fine. The room was exceptionally clean. That's the beauty of a new hotel – all the facilities are spick and span. The capsule coffee was complimentary and unlimited, and the bed was so soft. After a full day of island hopping and sun, we'd hit the bed and fall asleep instantly – it was so stress-relieving! I have to give a special shout-out to the breakfast 👏 The variety was truly amazing, from local nasi lemak and laksa to Western pancakes and bacon, and Chinese dim sum. The freshly brewed teh tarik was incredibly aromatic; I had two large cups every day and didn't repeat a dish for three days straight. Sitting by the window, eating and enjoying the sea view, really kick-started a day full of energy – now THAT's a vacation! The only minor regret was that the pool was a bit crowded when we visited, so we couldn't snag the best photo spot. But overall, for this price, getting a hotel with such a prime location, great views, and an excellent experience is an absolute steal. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kota Kinabalu ✔️

The first night was a nightmare. The fridge was incredibly loud, and there were motorcycles roaring down the street, plus some motor noise – it was a sensory overload! I immediately contacted Ctrip customer service, and soon two maintenance guys arrived. They fixed it pretty quickly, and the noise stopped instantly. They even apologized, which was nice. The second night was much better, and I slept really well. I'm satisfied and ready to leave. Now, for the huge upside of this hotel: it's only about 10 minutes from DBKK! Super close, which is incredibly convenient if you're heading out to sea or going to the mall. All the popular influencer spots are nearby, the mall is just across the street, and ordering food delivery is super easy. Unlike Pacific Sutera, which bans GrabFood, this place is great. Plus, Pacific Sutera has terrible soundproofing, which would be a nightmare for light sleepers. If I had known, I would've booked three nights at Hyatt Centric. Oh, and a heads-up: the water at Hyatt Centric tastes awful, so I recommend buying bottled water. Overall, Hyatt Centric is really good. I'd definitely stay here again next time.

The moment I checked in, I was captivated by the view from the building, especially watching the sunset over the ocean from the terrace – it instantly brought a sense of calm. The room design is very clean, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the details, like the butterfly decorations on the wall, which added a nice touch. The breakfast had a great variety and you could even order à la carte, which was very satisfying. The rooftop pool was crystal clear, and taking a dip while feeling the breeze was so relaxing. Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations.

Absolutely terrible! A complete rip-off. The only good thing about it was the location. For 2k a night, a sea-view room. I could overlook the small room, but the facilities were also awful... If you turned on the sink tap just a little too much, the entire counter would be covered in water. The panel behind the sink counter was just for show; water would flow straight through the gap and onto the floor... And this panel was right behind the bed! I nearly slipped on the water on the floor at night because I didn't see it. I ended up having to put down a towel to soak it up myself! Also, we were out all day on the second day and came back at 11 PM to find that our room hadn't been cleaned. When we asked housekeeping, they said they'd arrange it now. The front desk said that cleaning is 'by request only.' Since when do hotels require a request for routine cleaning? We waited ages for the cleaning service to finally arrive. And the room only had bottled water, but! The metal caps on the water bottles were bulging! The outside of the bottles was also very dirty. Be careful! Housekeeping clearly doesn't check anything! Plus, there were no tissues in our room when we checked in; we had to ask housekeeping for them. The whole experience was truly dreadful!!!
