The location is great: close to both the metro station and the bus stop, and at the same time a very quiet area, because the hotel is not located near the road. Great place! And Suisenji Park is within walking distance (a very beautiful place!)
The room was spacious, clean, cozy. All the amenities were present, everything worked.
The owner met us, showed us everything, explained, and walked us to the room.
The audibility in the room is very good, so if this is important, pay attention, but it was not that important to me, so I do not put it in the minus.
Great place!

Because hotels in Fukuoka are too expensive on weekends, I chose to stay in Kumamoto. It turned out that this choice was not wise. I chose this Japanese-style hotel because I needed a triple room, and it was a five-minute walk from JR Shinsuizenji Station. The hotel is in the middle of a residential area, and there are no shops nearby. If you need to buy something, you can go to the supermarket next to Shinsuizenji Station. I arrived at the hotel at around 12 noon, but there was no one at the front desk. I called the boss, whose English level was very average and only asked us to wait for a while. After waiting for nearly an hour, the boss still did not come. Later I realized that this hotel is unattended during the day, and the boss will not show up until four in the afternoon. The room is also very small, and the bathroom is so small that you can't turn around. The refrigerator in the corridor is shared by four rooms. The only advantage is that the boss will cook breakfast in the morning.

Although it is remote, I still found it. I don't understand why the house prices in the whole city suddenly rose today, and there are no rooms left. It's not bad to be able to book this one! The boss's wife made her own breakfast in the morning, it was so delicious

During my trip in Kumamoto I stayed at Tamaki Ryokan and it was a pleasant experience. While the owners' knowledge of English was limited, they tried to make themselves understandable (and so did I with my limited knowledge of Japanese). They helped me when I asked for help (e.g. checking whether or not Asosan was accessible - it was). The room was in traditional tatami mat style with a futon (see pictures), and the bathroom was a basic model with all necessary functions. The star of this stay was definitely the breakfast experience. The husband of the couple running this ryokan is the chef, and he is VERY good at this. Without a doubt this was the best breakfast experience I had during this trip in Japan. Also: grapes the size of plums, some of the best I've ever had. This was the "Japanese fruit" experience that I heard so much about. Also: the location of the ryokan is good (close to tram and train station Shin-Suizenji), and is very close to a post office (which I used to send postcards to my family).

Came with family to visit Kumamoto. We had a great experience of Japanese accommodation. We are delighted with this ryokan! Everyone is very kind and welcoming, the meals are very good and prepared with great care (Mr. Tamaki is a great cook!) We don't speak Japanese but everything was done to understand us. We were not disappointed by this stay. Thank you for this great experience!
