Kunming Haiyuan Boutique Homestay (Nanping Pedestrian Street)

Fantastic location right in the heart of the old town! The entrance is unassuming, but once you step inside, it's a pleasant surprise – an elegant and refined courtyard-style guesthouse. The five cats are absolutely adorable, calm, and brave; they confidently stroll in and out of rooms, interacting with guests. It's definitely the top choice for cat lovers! The guesthouse even provided milk in the evening. I had a very satisfying stay.

Booked this courtyard hotel for a layover in Kunming, and it truly exceeded my expectations! ✅ Super attentive service: The butler proactively helped us with our luggage when they saw we had a child, and even prepared 'cat treats' for the baby every day to feed the cats. The attention to detail was incredibly touching! ✅ Incredibly soothing environment: The courtyard is filled with lush greenery, like a small garden, and there are nearly 10 super friendly cats. If you leave your room door open, they'll come in to play, even stretching out on the bed. They're so soft and utterly therapeutic! ✅ Convenient location: It's right near Nanping Pedestrian Street, making getting around and finding food very easy. The room was clean and tidy, and we had a particularly comfortable stay. The overall experience was absolutely fantastic. This is a hidden gem I'd highly recommend to friends traveling with children!

Turn left for the pedestrian street, or right to reach the old town, both are bustling with activity. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, carrying our luggage to the room and even bringing hot milk every evening – so thoughtful! Plus, there are three super cute and friendly cats, very gentle and good-natured.

The service was excellent! I left something at the hotel and they promptly contacted me and even helped mail it back for free 😭😭. The location is super convenient, near the old town, and within walking distance to Cuihu Park and Wenlin Street! My only minor quibbles are perhaps the lack of a full-length mirror and the room being a bit small, but overall, the service and location are absolutely top-notch!! Giving it a perfect rating 👌. Plus, there's an adorable cat, as pictured 😭.

The hotel has beautiful scenery, and there are fluffy cats everywhere to keep you company. It's incredibly relaxing to pet them in your free time, highly recommended!

The breakfast was excellent, and the butler even delivered it to our room at the agreed-upon time. They also helped with our luggage both up and down, and brought milk to our room in the evening. We truly felt at home, highly recommend!

You access the guesthouse's courtyard by going through a wild mushroom restaurant and up to the second floor. The location is bustling, yet once you're upstairs, it's very quiet. When you head downstairs, there are plenty of places to eat and shop. There are two very relaxed cats roaming around, and the room is super comfortable. The complimentary goodnight dessert soup was a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend!
