Walking distance to lots of eating places opposite river . Choice of shampoo and liquid bath as well as pillow.
Free red wine and nice coffee was a big plus. Also tried their deer curry just for the experience . Also got to make mew friends with fellow guest at hotel while drinking.
The breakfast was superb. We chose Japanese seafood set.

I flew from Tokyo to Kushiro to take photos of red-crowned cranes. The hotel is right next to the bridge (pictured). I have to say that this area is very quiet and deserted in winter.
The room is large, the bathroom is huge, quiet, and good for sleeping.
I recommend Xiabu Xiabu, the seafood restaurant opposite the hotel, which costs 1,500 yen per person and offers king crabs. The best in winter!
I set out at 5 a.m. to take photos of the cranes. The front desk kindly gave me two large bags of warm packs. Although I prepared them myself, I was still warmed up.

The location is very convenient, the parking space is large, the hotel staff speak English very well, and the meals are very selective. There is also free midnight snacks in the evening, and you can use cash discount coupons when you check in (500 yen per person)

The location of the hotel is good, you can watch the sunset directly. Free drinks and special curry rice are also provided. There are many choices for breakfast and the quality is very good! A happy trip.

The room space feels so comfortable, and there is no problem in opening two large luggages! It's not far to walk to the other side of the bridge, so it's convenient! There is also free parking next to it. Will stay again!

🚗 Transportation: There is a free parking lot next to it
🧹 Hygiene: Is there too much dust in the house? The quilt is full of dust when I shake it.
🍃 Environment: It is quite comfortable. But the water droplets are too small when it rains, and it is difficult to wash long hair.
🔔 Service: There is a free water bar on the first floor, where you can surf the Internet and read books. You can choose Japanese and Western breakfast for breakfast, which is quite high-end.
We stopped here for one night between Lake Akan and Sapporo - we had a car and wanted to see the red crane sanctuary. The hotel picture is deceiving. It is not, or is no longer, a glamorous hotel. This average hotel is "on the wrong side" of the river and the town of Kushiro is sad and despairing. Two out of three establishments were closed and/or boarded up and the town was shabby and down at heel. We heard 2 of its 3 big industries (coal and paper) are under pressure with only fishing bringing in the revenue. In short, it is not worth stopping in Kushiro even for one night. In hindsight we would have got up early and driven through to Sapporo (no other town hit us as a stopover as we travelled through the next day) and as it happens the best crane reserve (Tancho), in our view for this time of the year is en route to the expressway anyway. We were in Kushiro on a Sunday and there was almost nowhere to eat for dinner - the hotel restaurant was not open and the recommendations given by the hotel were not open either and were on the other side of the river. We ended up walking to the other side of the river to the ANA Crowne Plaza for a "coffee shop" dinner = we felt lucky to find anything open - Lawsons was looking like our dinner diner! We could find literally nothing open for lunch other than a Tullys Coffeeshop hidden down a deserted ally. The choices were very limited. I had what turned out to a honey pizza - not what I had in mind ordering a pizza - the photo did not indicate this surprise either.

Hotel is in a nice spot by the river and harbor, with a Fisherman’s Wharf tourist area 3 minutes walk away. On our arrival walk from the train station we noted the town was a bit depressed and later learned 2 of their 3 main industries were fading (paper and coal declining while fishing booms). Perhaps because of this and lingering pandemic effects, the hotel pulled out some stops to make guests’ stays more enjoyable - complimentary buffet of bath salts and pillows in the lobby, plus complimentary breakfast set options on top of an an already nice buffet. We opted for the seafood breakfast and were extremely happy with it. Our room, a Deluxe Hollywood Twin would be perfect for 2 adults, it was a bit cramped for the 3 of us with a rollaway. The bathroom was a Japanese style wet room which we appreciate. We also used the coin laundry. If you’ve got a car this could serve as a decent base for some exploring. We spent one day on a bus tour up to Lake Akan.
