Nest Style Beach Hotel Zanzibar

Bait and switched hotels on our group. More to come after our stay… Mojitos are good. The veggie spring roles get two thumbs up. Definitely try them if you come here. Heading to the pool with a view of the water and a light breeze blowing. Sun and swim here I come.

Nest Style gets it right when it comes to providing nice accommodations, friendly service, really good food and drink. I have stayed in more luxurious places and on the opposite end much less expensive lodging. What we appreciated with Nest Stle is it did what it does well without being pretentious, at a price point that makes one feel they got a bargain. It checks all the boxes (that really matter) Friendly service- ✔ Accommodating to guests needs- check Good food and drink - ✔ Wifi consistency - check (a few outages but very few) Simple but tasteful decor - ✔ Attentive staff but not over bearing for tips and or trying to up-selling stuff- ✔ All in all a great place for the price paid. Some things to improve on but merely personal preferences. - Morning Coffee. With Tanzania and Kenya coffee producers. Their coffee should highlight this and coffee should be from the region and bean to cup. - the fitness center really needs a re-do. - if all inclusive, refill the mini fridge daily. Having said this, the food and drink was very plentiful and easy to get at the bar / restaurant just a few feet away from my door. Bottom Line. Highly recommend the hotel, think new management is trying to improve on a good hotel and concept. It takes about 1.5hrs to get from the airport to the hotel by taxi and plan on paying $100 round trip. Also did not realize until we arrived that Visa cost depends on Nationality. Germans pay around 50 euros for single entry. US pays $100 per person multi entry.

When first arriving here we were very warm welcomed by friendly staff. The rooms are spacious, there are two pools and the hotel is at the beach. The sea front is very shallow and one must take care not to step on sea urchins. The staff makes the difference at this place, they are very helpful and taking care of all our requests, also requests out of the ordinary. We liked the Bar-B-Q every evening with changing dishes. Good stuff all!

First stay here was planned and after 3 nights and some air-conditioning problems ( fixed ), we can fly back home…. Plane was overvooked and we return back for one week more stay in Nest Style…. Second stay was unplanned, but the location and character of the resort is so nice, that we come back…. Everything was ok, staff very helpful and weather also perfect. Sea on this location comes back to the beach every 6 hours, so you have much more time to explore all the lagoons and places - normal time underwater…. Super !

Location is great (don’t get discouraged by comments on tides), from the restaurant to the beach: the guys there take really good care of every detail and are really kind. We had some issues but they were promptly addressed. Food was really good as well, abundant and at a fair price. Excursions are presented, arranged and performed with high standards and attention to the customer. Only watchout is related to wifi connection, that was not consistent (they mentioned some issues related to the internet plan). Overall a great place to stay!

The Nest Style Beach Hotel offers a good value for travelers seeking an alternative to the constant tourist hustle of Stone Town. Located on the extreme southeastern shore of the island, Nest Style is about a 90-minute car ride from the Zanzibar airport. Just take the route toward the village of Makunduchi and you will find Nest Style literally at the end of the road. It was formerly known as La Madrugada Beach Hotel & Resort, as evidenced by the tiles at the bottom of the swimming pools that still spell out its past moniker. I never stayed there when it was the operated as the Magdrugada but, judging from the legacy reviews, the new management team for the Nest Style have made some marked improvements over the days of old. The property features 37 rooms spread over five separate two-story buildings with white adobe walls and thatched roofs. My small family of three stayed in two rooms during our week there. A problem with the air conditioner in our first room necessitated a move to another room to allow a repair crew in to fix the issue. Both of the rooms were nicely appointed in a style that featured a combination of finished concrete and natural wood. If you are looking for gleaming marble surfaces and silk sheets, this is not the place for you. But. if you want the laid-back vibe of a tropical isle with a “casual chic” décor, the Nest Style perfectly fills the bill. The centerpiece of the property is a rectangular garden that houses two swimming pools and a large two-story wooden structure with open sides that serves as the bar/restaurant/dining room. The lower portion features a bar that is reasonably stocked. They offer a variety of soft drinks, juices, a few local beers and a solid list of basic cocktails, including some “obligatory” tourist treats served in a hulled-out coconut. The upper floor is a dining room that offers nice breezes and a good view overlooking the pools and the beach beyond. It faces the east, so you get great views of the sunrise. The beach is not conducive for bathers who want to take an immediate swim. During low tide, you need to hike about 200 meters in knee-deep water over a sp****ly sanded rock-and-coral seabed to get to water deep enough for a dip. High tide is not much better, with the closest water getting up to about waist-level. Water shoes are pretty much a necessity. We found the pools to be the best option for swimming, with warm water that was meticulously clean but not overwrought with chemicals. And we did enjoy the beaches for walking, shell-gazing, and the usual ambience that comes with being near the shore. Between the low fence marking the hotel boundary and the beach, the hotel maintains a wide ***** of sand terraced up a few feet from the water’s edge that features some large lounging cabanas. They have pergola tops that allow you to seek sun or shade, as desired. The food served at the Nest Style is good and plentiful. A breakfast buffet is served each morning in the second-floor dinin

1. We checked IN and where very excited for our vacation and where robbed by the hotel staff on our 2nd day. The robber waited until we left the hotel room and sat down for dinner and went inside the hotel room from the bathroom window. My fiance went back to the room by chance and suprised the robber and lucky didn't catch him since many things could habe happened. Police was called but they came at almost 11 am the next day and didn't do anything. We and other guests who were staying at the hotel told the hotel that it must have been the staff of the hotel since it was impossible to know we are not in the room...since all lights were still on. The hotel didn't investigate and we didn't fell safe at all. We changed our dates and left earlier. The hotel still charged us and never did anything to make up for their mistake. I would defenetley not recommend this hotel at all. 2.the food was not good and the options were limited. I would rather go to Paje and eat in this restaurant since it's 100% more tasty and definitely cheaper.

What a GEM! I stayed for four nights with a group of friends and cannot speak highly enough about the hotel. Staff were friendly, always smiling and efficient. The facility is beautiful. Nice pool and beach area with loungers. There is a nice dirt road that runs in front of the hotel and along the beach which was perfect for a morning run. Wifi was excellent! We read reviews of it not being good but it was the best wifi we had on the island. Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable amd cleaned daily. A little treat was the free snacks that were in the room (Pringle’s, nuts, chocolate bar) We liked there were bikes and stand up paddle boards to rent which we did. Breakfast was very tasty and fresh. Omelettes and fresh fruit I could eat every morning. We had the buffet dinner one night which had good variety then ordered from the a la carte menu. Food was fresh, flavorful and reasonable price. They also offer massages on the beach. We paid 30usd for a 50 minute massage and it was worth every dollar. So relaxing listing to the waves and feeling the breeze. The hotel is tucked away, quiet and relaxing. Perfect way to end the summer holidays. **Just a note on that there is only a little shop up the road and not much else around. We also used the pool more than beach due to the tides.
