Stayed 6 days at Chalet Shimai and had one of the best skiing trips ever. Love the interior of the chalet, the kitchen has everything you need (even a blender and a hotpot), small little details everywhere (Nintendo Switch, boardgames) and great amenities (en-suite Onsen, free shuttle service to the lift, heated floors are a game changer). Can recommend everybody to stay at Chalet Shimai

Beautiful surroundings and professional cleaning team at the Orchards! Also very convenient but quiet location. We stayed at Shimai for a week, and it was a really nice home away from home for us. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils, and the heated floors everywhere was such a blessing during the winter. It was amazing waking up to the view of Mt Yotei every morning.

Tucked away just a short distance from the lively Hirafu junction in Niseko, Shimai, The Orchards, stands as a serene retreat that feels deeply like a home away from home. This special place, balancing proximity to adventure with the bliss of solitude, hosted me, my wife, her sister (this trip was in part, her birthday celebrations), their cousin, and partner. Shimai’s allure was so magnetic, it inspired a poetic appreciation for its beauty. The thoughtful interior design of Shimai immediately caught our collective eye. A power socket discreetly placed under the dining table might seem a minor detail, but it became the hero of a memorable hotpot dinner, demonstrating the thoughtful consideration woven into every aspect of the house. These moments of discovery were a recurring joy. The heated floors felt like a warm embrace after a day spent in the chill of Niseko, transforming our return to Shimai into a welcome respite from the cold. The kitchen, with its seemingly endless array of high-quality and perhaps unnecessary appliances; was a home cook’s dream. And the plates, so elegantly designed, seemed they could as easily adorn a wall as serve a meal. By the end of our stay, the enchantment of Shimai had woven its way so deeply into my heart that I half-seriously inquired about purchasing it. Such was the depth of our connection to this place. It wasn’t just the physical comfort but the thoughtful touches and the sense of belonging that made Shimai so unforgettable. Shimai wasn’t just a backdrop to our holiday; it was a participant, cradling us in comfort and beauty, making every moment feel significant. This place didn’t just host us; it embraced us, making it hard to say goodbye. Shimai, The Orchards Niseko, was more than an accommodation—it was a haven that promised and delivered a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and beauty, making every detail of our stay something to cherish. So, forgive my poetic musings; such is the effect of a place that touches your soul.

Shimai locates just a 3-min drive from hirafu jujigai, quiet yet convenient. The house itself has all you need - a fully equipped kitchen with free condiments, a Japanese style bath, even a pool table! Spotless and everything worked perfectly. I will definitely stay at Shimai again if I return to Niseko!

Friend recommended Shimai@theOrchards and so so glad we took her advise. This particular chalet 48-63 came equipped with all the tech devices and home entertainment ie., pool table, a game machine that has multiple games for 1-2players and Nintendo switch to keep everyone engaged after a long day of skiing. When you just want to stay home out of the cold and the kids still have something to do at home. The BIGGEST advantage is the free on-demand shuttle service which took the stress off lugging the skis and/or having to wait in the cold for a ride. Just call ahead of time and let the chalet staff where you need to go or where you need to be picked up. Best way to describe this place? It is a home away from home. Thank you Shimai@theOrchards!

We stayed 11 days at The Orchards, Akan chalet in late Jan 2024 with a group of friends and it was a memorable one. The design of the chalet is cosy and modern, we love every bits of it. Pre-booking of the chalets many months ago was so smooth and promptly replied. Special shoutout to the MnK team like Stephen, Jane and Kaori for answering to my many many queries, they made our bookings so much easier. And of course the front desk team that accommodated to our requests during the stay. One awesome service that MnK does very well is that they are able to help book and manage multiple services as 1 point of contact. Car rentals, bus transfers etc. This really helps a lot, hassle free. Just one thing that can improve, will be the beds and pillows. Sleep quality wasn't that good. If not, everything will be perfect. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Niseko to snowboard again.

We went with another family of 3 and booked 2 separate 2br chalets for 5 nights. Both our families loved it. Furnishings are well-kept and fairly modern and most importantly clean. Ample space for us and the washer/dryer was a lifesaver. Special mentions: Stephen fm MnK who answered my string of questions promptly and thoroughly all year long prior to the actual trip. George fm Elevate was an amazing ski coach and is great with teenagers and seniors like me alike! Saved my life more than once! 😄 Taylor fm EdVenture walked us on the snowshoe tour and is the sweetest guide. Plus, all the MnK staff who took turns to drive us on the shuttle service! It’s really helpful that we didn’t have to brave the cold and snow to get out and back to the resort every day.

Shimai is everything I had wanted for a family holiday stay. A beautiful home full of amenities and knick knacks lovingly put together by the home owner. A full size pool table, loads of card games, a more than awesome onsen bath, hotpot and oven for intimate dinner sessions and the most splendid view of Mount Yotei framing the living room. Thank you for all the previous memories this space had made for us. Will gladly come back again and again xxx
