the hotel was nice and the area is quiet and safe...could be better if there is an option for breakfast

We booked the room for 3 and we don’t mind a bit of walking. They prepared 3 separate beds for us which is perfect for us as we’re a family of 3 (adults). The walk to the station is also not too far which is about 10 minutes (assuming you don’t get distracted by the shops along the way). Overall, we’re satisfied with the hotel.😊

The hotel is not big, with five floors in total. There are four rooms on the 2nd to 5th floors, and two rooms on the 1st floor. The washing machine and dryer are behind the service desk on the first floor. The hotel is very new, with good facilities. The room size is above average in Japan, and the price is very reasonable. The hotel is in an alley, which has a very Kyoto-style feel. It is very close to the Higashiyama subway station, less than two minutes' walk away, and there are many buses. The bathroom facilities are particularly thoughtful, the heating function is extremely suitable for winter, and the clothes drying function is also very practical. The problem is that the location is a bit far, not suitable for strolling or shopping. The hotel has no front desk after 10 o'clock, the automatic door cannot be opened, and it is extremely difficult to check in.

This is an excellent value for money during the cherry blossom season. It should be newly renovated. The room is really big in Japan. It is more than enough for two suitcases to be spread out. It is very convenient to go to Yasaka Shrine, Nanzenji Temple, Kiyomizudera Temple, and Shijo Kawaramachi. It can be reached on foot or within 20 minutes by subway bus. The sanitary napkins are separated from wet and dry, and it is a smart toilet for bathing. Turn on the heater when bathing to make it super warm. The service attitude at the front desk is also very good. However, it is important to note that the front desk is unattended before 6 a.m. and after 10 p.m., and you need to walk 200m to their sister hotel for luggage storage. All in all recommended!

Economical, cost-effective and somewhat compact. The clerk's service was very good. Since the store could not store luggage, he told me that it could be stored at another Shirakawa Sanjo Hotel next to McDonald's. When we walked to the Gion Shirakawa store across the street, he chased us and explained it again, fearing that we would mishear and misunderstand.

Overall it's a nice stay! The wet and dry bathrooms are separated and the space is larger than those in the same price range. Two large luggages in the room can be opened Washing machine + dryer are provided (both charges apply) Personally I don’t think the heating is very warm. Maybe the room is too big🤣

We just finished 8 delightful days here and have already made plans to return soon. The hotel is not glamorous, but it has all you need for a great stay in Kyoto at a reasonable price. Rooms are rather small by American standards, but quite sufficient unless you have a lot of luggage. Bathrooms (TOTO) are very 21st century and of haute quality! Real Buck Rodgers bathrooms get you very clean, very comfortably. Cleanliness is everywhere in this hotel. Legasta Shirakawa is located on a canal just off one of the main east/west roads close to Gion. It is a short and beautiful walk to Gion or downtown. It is quite centrally located as far as any of the many attractions of Kyoto go. The location is in a very quiet residential area with no street noise at all. There is a neighborhood grocery store a block away, open 24/7. The staff are a delight as well. Haruka checked us in smoothly and surprised us later that night with a hand-written list of dining suggestions! Mikiko, who speaks excellent English, was there most afternoons and was a font of good advice about the area, as well as having a wonderful sense of humor. We had a memorable Sakura 2025 in Kyoto and are looking forward to our next visit VERY soon.
