Reviews of Shiki Suites - Kyoto Umekoji

The hotel was within walking distance from Kyoto Station. Kyoto Aquarium was nearby, which was great for a short evening stroll. There was also a convenience store close by, so buying snacks was never an issue. The jacuzzi was a bit shallow but spacious, and it felt wonderful to soak in it while enjoying the night breeze.

I stayed alone, but it was so lovely that I wished I could have shared it with someone! The living room and bedroom were separate, allowing me to relax completely. Everywhere was clean! Having a microwave, kettle, and refrigerator in the room was incredibly convenient!

Not very clean. The upside is that the room is quite spacious and can sleep four people. The location is a bit far from Kyoto Station, and you have to walk through an underpass and along the railway tracks.

so glad i found this accommodation during my stay in kyoto! thank you for the great hospitality and the cleaniless of the room! it was cosy and the heater helps when the weather was 2deg. it was nice to provide washing machine and dryer :) however, it was quite a walk to kyoto station but manageable i guess.

The room is clean, big and spacious! Just that it was quite cold. It was winter. Our room is on the same floor as the laundry room which was very convenient. The kitchen is very small but we didn't use the kitchen much. The bathroom is quite big, combined the toilet and shower together. The only problem is that the hotel is near Kyoto station but it's quite a distance to walk, around 15 mins. Overall, it was a nice experience to stay in this hotel in Kyoto.

Room is clean and big enough for 4 people to stay. But the location is a little far away from Kyoto JR station and not easily to find. No staff after 18:00 and almost everything you need to handle by yourself.

Comfortable, family friendly hotel - conveniently located a short walk away from the main Kyoto train station-

Booked during off season and got very good price. Pretty close to Kyoto station, hence, very easy to commute. A bit small for 4 adults but doable since we spent most of our time outside. Their toilet is great!

The hotal is clean and big, the checkin process is easy remember to check the email.

We actually loved staying here due to its tranquility and also being near Umekoji Park. The space here was a welcome change from the usual hotel. It is quite a distance from Kyoto Station though. But all in all the mini kitchen was great. They also have free laundry facilities in 3rd floor which was awesome. Dryer worked well to dry our winter clothes as well. Do note however that there is no housekeeping, so either you dispose the filled up bins outside your room for them to clear or wait till check out. Its ok during winter when its cold but am not too sure about summer. Staff was very helpful when I asked for help with the laundry.

Facilities: quite complete, with a small kitchen. Hygiene: OK, but the bedding provided is not very good, it feels not very clean. Environment: Average, in a residential area, about ten minutes walk from Kyoto Station. Service: OK, stayed for two nights, during which time the garbage was taken out and the bath towels were changed, that's all. The most expensive homestay I stayed in during this trip to Japan. Kyoto hotels near Kyoto Station are ridiculously expensive, and there are no triple rooms. This one happened to have one, so I chose a suite with a surf bathtub. The bathtub was not used, but it was OK to live in.

The place felt far from the station during the hot summer, but it wasn't that far if the weather was good, and it was really nice because it felt clean and luxurious from the entrance, and the front desk staff was also very friendly. It was exactly as the picture shows, and even though we had the sofa as a bed and stayed with 3 people, it was spacious and comfortable!

It's about 10 minutes from JR station. The surrounding environment is very secluded, it should be in a residential area, it feels more like folk customs. There is a 100 yuan vending machine at the door, and the hotel does not provide water. The room is really big, which is rare. There is a balcony where you can hang clothes every day. The shower water is very refreshing. The front desk seems to be available only at 9 o'clock, and there will be no one too late at night. As for hygiene... I suggest you wipe the toilet several times with alcohol wipes, and I also wiped the sink. It seems that the room is not cleaned every day. When I came back the next day, the room was not cleaned. I asked the front desk to change the towels the next day. The room is not soundproof, and the music next door is very loud in the middle of the night... For this price, it's okay.

The accommodation is clean and beautiful. Complete facilities You can wash and dry the clothes. And being able to cook a little food is really good. It's not far from Kyoto Station. Convenient transportation by both bus and train. Near AEON department store, there is a 100 Yen store on the entire floor. I will definitely stay here again if I go to Kyoto.
