I stayed at two Henn na Hotels in Kyoto (one in Kyoto Hachijo and one near Kansai Airport), and both times I was inexplicably assigned a room right next to the elevator! This is absolutely no coincidence; it's a clear policy of differential treatment. The elevator noise was incessant all night, making it impossible to sleep.
I originally chose to stay again because I had a good experience at Henn na in Tokyo, but that trust has been completely shattered.
