checking in at a different location is a bit of a hassle when you come with your own car. The apartment not having a parkinglot ended up quite pricey as well. The room is as the fotos show. There are a lot of restaurants snd supermarkets nearby. It’s clean and comfortable. Check out is easy.

I really want to recommend this Kyoto hotel where a family of 5 stayed! First, check-in is done at the Registe Integrated Check-in Center near Kyoto Station. It was really convenient because you can leave your luggage here for free. Google Maps tells you to use the underground passage, but if you just go to the first floor and walk diagonally to the right from the front of Kyoto Station, you'll arrive right away. After checking in, you can take a shuttle bus to the hotel, so it wasn't a problem when you first arrived. On the map, it may look a bit far from Gion Street, but in reality, there's Gion Street to the east, Arashiyama Park to the west, and Kinkaku-ji to the north, so you can get anywhere in 15-20 minutes. I also really recommend the Izuyama mart in front of the hotel. Compared to Osaka, the prices are much cheaper, so you won't regret buying a lot here. In particular, there are many items that you can buy for less than the duty-free benefits, so you can really shop economically. The nearby 100-yen shop is also worth a visit, and convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Lawson are also close by, so it was convenient. You can also walk to Kura Sushi, so you don't have to worry about food. The surrounding area is very quiet and has a local atmosphere, so it was really great for walking. We walked around the area twice a day for 3 days, and I still remember that time vividly. The interior of the hotel was also very clean, and the provided laundry detergent smelled so good that I did my laundry twice! The Wi-Fi was fast, and you could watch YouTube on the TV, so it was great to stay with the kids. The kids especially enjoyed the bunk beds. You might be worried about this hotel because of its location, but in fact, it's enough to stay for a day or two. If you want to experience the local atmosphere of Japan, I highly recommend this hotel.

The location is pretty good, with supermarkets, restaurants, parking lots nearby, and a bus stop downstairs! The rooms are all good, with a washing machine and a drying function in the bathroom. However, bath powder cannot be replenished. A towel costs $300 ¥, but overall it is acceptable!

Even without meals, it's cheaper to cook by yourself, It was a very good facility! The facilities are good and it is safe 😊 It was a pity that there were no seasonings. (This is also one of hygiene?)

Stayed with my family of 5. It was spacious and had bunk beds, which the kids loved. Amenity was substantial, too. I went by car, but it was hard to have to stop near Kyoto station for check-in.

We stayed here on a tour though Japan. The reservation was made by our travel agent as part of a group tour. This was our favorite accommodation during the tour as the rooms were very big, very clean and fully stocked with all that you need. They had a washing machine in the room and the bathroom can turn into a dryer. There is a code to get in the door and another code for the room. Check in is at another location which is interesting but as they have so many hotels in the area it makes sense to have a central place to check in as the reception is not manned Its really a nice self catering apartment. Every was modern and working so we enjoyed the space.
Response from Property: Thank you for choosing to stay with us. RESI STAY Nishijin offers spacious rooms, which are larger compared to typical hotels in Japan. This ensures that guests can enjoy a comfortable stay, even if they have large luggage. Additionally, each room is equipped with a washing machine and a clothes dryer, allowing guests to minimize the amount of clothing they need to bring along. Shuttle bus service has been suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic, but we are making every effort to resume the service as soon as possible. We look forward the opportunity to have you in the future. Best regards, RESI STAY Team

Great accommodations for a family of four. Lots of room, simple but stocked kitchen, laundry in room. Great shower and tub room that turns into a drying room for the clothes you wash. Vibrant decor, with good security and a locked storage room if you need to take your luggage out after check out but still want to go explore the city. Good wifi and a guest information binder on restaurants and other features nearby. A little bit of a pain having to walk over to their offices across the street from Kyoto station and then have to walk back to catch transit to go to apartment. Be careful of what bus you catch! For whatever reason Kyoto bus terminal outside of the station has two #205 busses that go in totally different places. Why they would do that is beyond us, but if we hadn't checked it more carefully we would have ended up in a completely different part of the city. The JR bus does go right in front of the apartment and they do accept the rail pass, but they run infrequently.
Response from Property: We sincerely appreciate your insightful and detailed review, which will help us improve our services for our valued guests even further. The interior of RESI STAY Nishijin features the image of traditional toys and games from the Heian period, such as origami and thread balls, which are sure to delight guests with their vibrant decorations that evoke the spirit of Kyoto's beauty. Each of our hotel rooms is equipped with a washing machine and clothes dryer to help our guests minimize their luggage and enjoy a comfortable stay, even for extended periods. We also offer a storage room before check-in and after check-out, allowing our guests to explore Kyoto city as much as possible. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the confusing Kyoto city bus system. To address this issue, we will improve our communication with guests by elaborating on the routes of the city bus to minimize any confusion when taking the bus. Thank you once again for your time and consideration. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and the chance to have served you as our guest. It would be absolutely delightful to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Best regards, RESI STAY Team

Very Good

We had mixed reviews of this accomodation Pros - was a very large room two small doubles and a bunk perfect for families. Amenities are great with wifi, lots of kitchen utensils, stove, tea and coffee supplied, toothbrushes available, washing machine and tablets are provided with an inbuilt dryer system in the bathroom. Bathroom and shower area was also spacious. Beds are on the okay side but could be softer. The area itself is nice and quiet with a bus stop right out from we utilised every day, supermarket and Lawsons are across the road and you feel very safe. Would recommend for families. Cons - check in is in a different location 20minute taxi away so we had to catch a train to the check in office when arriving in Kyoto from Osaka, then a taxi to the accomodation after this which chewed up a few hours as we had to wait 45min in addition to check in due to busyness of the office. The area is a bit out of the way of everything next time I might consider staying at a different resi stay location closer to sights and facilities like shops etc. All the restaurants in the area seem to not open for breakfast until 11am so we had to have McDonald’s if we didn’t want to cook or travel too far for breakfast as we have a toddler (early riser). Same occurred at dinner time a lot of restaurants didn’t seem to be open the Monday or Tuesday we were there or opened too late for us (we travelled with a four year old). Our last disappointment was resi stay apparently have a strict not noise at night policy however another room partied until about 3am but there is no front desk or after hours phone number to call to complain / get the noise to stop. Was very frustrating as walls were very thin so we didn’t sleep very well. Overall we would stay with Resi Stay again but at another location due to Nishijin being a bit too out of the way for us.
Response from Property: Thank you for choosing RESI STAY Nishijin. We truly appreciate your detailed review and suggestions, as they provide us with valuable insights to improve our services even further. This apartment hotel is conveniently located in front of a supermarket and each room is equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, and clothes dryer to assist guests with their extended stays. We used to operate a shuttle bus service, but unfortunately, it had to be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we are currently making every effort to resume this service as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the noise generated by other guests. We will improve our communication with our guests to ensure that this issue is minimized in the future. We offer a variety of accommodations in Kyoto city, and we would be delighted to have the opportunity to welcome you back to one of our properties in the near future. Best regards, RESI STAY team
