Smart Place Inn Kyoto Shijo Omiya Station

Cozy hotel close to the metro station, not far from the Imperial Palace. The room is clean, and they provide shampoo, shower gel, and hair conditioner. At the front desk, there's a small table with coffee, toothpastes, combs, and other small essentials that are so handy when traveling. It would be great if there was a sign at the reception saying 'pay local tax' to make it clearer. Thank you for your hospitality!

Very interesting, I stayed here for one night. The location is strategic, close to the station, bus stop, convenience store, and places to eat.

Pros: 1. Great location. 2. Clean room. Cons: 1. Breakfast. If you don't want two slices of bread, cabbage, and tasteless coffee for breakfast, I don't recommend it. The breakfast area isn't located in the hotel itself, but rather a 3-minute walk away at a cafe. This cafe is also frequented by guests from other hotels and locals. We stood in line for 30 minutes for breakfast. 2. The rooms aren't cleaned. They didn't even take out the trash once in 3 days. 3. All the hotels in Tokyo, Kawaguchiko, and Osaka provided us with an adapter for an outlet. This hotel didn't have one, and there was nowhere to buy one nearby. 4. If you don't say hello first, no one at reception will. 5. The hotel hallways were constantly smoky (there was no smell in the room itself).

An excellent hotel for the price—tidy, clean, and not outdated. The only downside is the small rooms, but that's typical in Japan. You can't ship your suitcase to another city or hotel, but there's a FamilyMart nearby; they charged 2,500 yen for one suitcase shipped to Tokyo. The hotel is also in a great location, close to the subway and bus stop, 24-hour stores, and a pharmacy. I highly recommend it to all my compatriots!

The hotel's automatic gate was broken, and I was in a hurry to leave for a meeting. The staff didn't even know where the emergency exits were, and they couldn't let the guests stuck inside leave for over half an hour. It's terrifying to think about; what if it were a fire or earthquake? The consequences would be unimaginable.
