This traditionally styled guest house is situated on a not so traditional busy street, although close to the famous Kiyomizu dera temple and there are some nice little crafting shops and restaurants nearby. The guest house itself is cozy, especially when you visit during the winter when everyone will gather around the woodstove in the common room for a free cup of nice Japanese tea. The rooms are spacious and decorated with traditional Japanse floors and ornaments, as well as Japanse futons (which are surprisingly comfortable!). Although a little pricey ( shared bathrooms and no breakfast included), the guest house makes up for this by offering drink/breakfast coupons for every night you spend, and a warm welcome by the very friendly young crew. I would say this guest house is especially suitable for young people traveling alone or with friends.
