THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA KYOTO TOKYU, A Pan Pacific Hotel

This place is great! The room was bigger than I expected, and the shower had excellent water pressure. The surroundings are lovely, and there's a convenience store right across the street, plus some nice local eateries nearby. Getting around is super easy too; there's a bus stop right by the hotel, and the subway station is even closer.

This was the best hotel experience during my nine-day trip to Japan. When I checked in, the front desk immediately offered a cold towel, and the room had complimentary drinks and snacks. The hotel's location is also excellent; the subway station is just a short walk away. It was a wonderful stay.

This hotel was truly excellent. I often find that Japanese domestic hotels can be hit or miss due to different standards compared to international ones, but this place far exceeded my expectations. It was a very comfortable stay. My only minor complaint is that I thought I got a better deal by booking in advance, but on the day of check-in, I noticed the same price included breakfast. Since we were three people in two rooms without breakfast, I can't comment on the breakfast quality. This experience led me to believe that hotels weren't busy lately, so I booked subsequent hotels later, only to find myself paying much higher last-minute prices for other accommodations – that's on me, though. Another small issue was that one of the rooms didn't have tea replenished on the second day. However, overall, I was very satisfied. Previously, for convenience in Kyoto, I always stayed near Kyoto Station, but this time I discovered the Higashiyama area is also excellent. The surroundings have a wonderfully relaxed old-town vibe, and it's convenient for local attractions.

Located in a very quiet and comfortable area of Dongshan District. We requested a garden view, which was absolutely beautiful. The room was spacious and very clean, and we slept wonderfully. They also offer a shuttle service until past 8 PM. The only downside is that the room lighting isn't very bright, making it a bit dim at night. Everything else was great. Personally, I found the breakfast selection to be a bit limited, but the service was excellent.

The emotion and value this place offers are just incredible. From the tea in Gion, the Kuroge Wagyu beef, the soba udon at Jindaya, to the 8th generation's five-star rice, and even the Japanese sake brewery's skincare products – it's like they're telling a story. [strong] [grin] [eating melon]
