Hotels near JR Nishioji Station, Kyoto

This hotel was in a really great location, right beside the main Kyoto train station. The room was very spacious and had a nice view of the Kyoto station so you could see the shinkansen trains come in. The only drawback is that at night you could hear the vehicles outside. I would definitely stay here again.

It's quiet and easy to spend because it's one station from Kyoto Station. The location is also near the station, and it's easy to understand that you can reach it in just a few minutes from the station. Parks, aquariums and railway museums are also nearby, so you can play with your children. There is a large communal bath, but personally, the hot water is lukewarm and unsatisfactory. I stayed in a standard twin room, but I was able to spend a relaxing time in a room that was perfectly large even if I spread a large suitcase. There are also 6 coin laundry units, which is appreciated for long-term stays. It seems that a group of school excursion students was staying there, and I was worried that I could hear a slapstick noise at a fairly late time. There is also a convenience store, so it's very convenient, but it was very disturbing because a group of school excursion students was shopping and it was very crowded, and I didn't know how to use the self-checkout and was making a fuss. It was. Isn't it shifting such shopping time or the school side manages it? Apart from that, I was able to spend comfortably without any problems.

You can go from Kyoto Station by １ station and take a taxi within 1000 yen. When going to the guest room area from the front desk, there is an automatic door, and it will not open unless you hold the room key, so security is also solid. The elevator is also large. The room was well cleaned, very clean and the room was large and comfortable. The bath was large, and it was not a hotel faucet that was difficult to use, but an ordinary type of easy-to-use faucet. The separate place from the toilet was also good. It was good that the amenities were substantial and there was a bath salt. Free PET bottle water, drip coffee, tea packs are also available. Since it is a new hotel, the facilities are easy to use and there are many outlets, so it was convenient. You can also watch YouTube and Netflix on TV. General hotel rooms have many dim orange lighting, but the main lighting of this hotel is white, so it was good. It was comfortable because I couldn't hear the noise in the next room, the upper floors and the corridor. You can rest assured that the large communal bath has a security card dedicated to women only. There were many kinds of breakfast buffets and it was very delicious. When I checked out, I was asked, ”Did you have any inconvenience in your room?”, but nothing was wrong. I heard about the inconvenience and thought it was to respond quickly. You can leave your baggage for free after check-out, so you can go sightseeing empty-handed. The only inconvenience I felt was ... If you are in a room near the JR track, it is far from the elevator to the room. It was difficult to walk with a heavy suitcase because it was quite fluffy floor material, probably because it was to improve the soundproofing of the corridor. Even if I walked normally, I felt tired feet walking on the sandy beach. It may be unavoidable due to the structure of the building, but it was a pity that I could hardly see the Kyoto Tower from the rooftop, but I could see the trains and Shinkansen, and the mountains 々 in the distance. Tables, chairs and benches are installed, so I think you can spend a pleasant time in spring and autumn when the climate is good. It was a very good hotel, so I would like to use it again.

The room is still too small, but the hygiene is really clean. I can give it full marks. The transportation location is very convenient. It is only 2 kilometers away from Takashimaya Nishiki Market by taking the bus and subway. The service attitude at the front desk is very friendly. It is best if you can speak Chinese. It will be perfect.

An unexpected incident occurred when I first arrived at the hotel. The order information was ”Kyoto Gojo Livemax Hotel”. The map navigation of the order was correct, but when I arrived at the hotel, there was no reservation information. Since I was unfamiliar with the place, I first asked the hotel staff to help confirm the reservation. The address and phone number are not theirs, and then ask the hotel staff to help find out where the address is? Then it was confirmed that it was ”Nijo Castle Livemax Hotel”, and I asked a ********* friend to contact the website to confirm. It was confirmed that the information was incorrect. I hope the website can strengthen it to prevent similar incidents from happening again. I thought I was going to sleep on the street. The hotel is not far from the JR station, so transportation is convenient. It is also clean and tidy. Even though it is a smoking room, there is no smell of smoke when you check in. If you need to change towels, you have to go to the counter to get them.

The decision to stay at the Moxy Kyoto Nijo was a last minute one. We had booked an alternate hotel but decided to utilize my Marriott Gold Status at the Moxy. Using points, I offset the price of our 2-night stay. I also let them know we were celebrating a birthday and anniversary which they surprised us with a hand written greeting on the room's mirror. They also gave us an extra round of ”welcome drinks” at the bar aka hotel desk. The hotel is located near the JR Nijo Station down the street from Nijo Castle. We had transferred from Kyoto Station via the Shinkansen from Tokyo. The hotel is rather new and very hipster. The check in desk and bar is open 24 hours. It's a cute boutique hotel with loads of amenities. Our view wasn't the greatest but we had a lovely rain shower, Toto automatic toilet/bidet, comfy Queen sized bed, small fridge, free water upon request, clean pajamas, and lots of electrical outlets. They also had a laundry center that we didn't use. Let me just say, the welcome cocktails are kind of small so order the beer or wine instead to get a decent pour. We didn't have complimentary breakfast at this hotel so we opted to go out into the city for our meals and snacks. However, they did let us use the espresso machine which put out a fairly good cup of coffee or cappuccino depending on your desire. As we were close the Nijo Castle, we walked visited the castle. The hotel is close to the train that takes you to the bamboo forest as well. Just down the street is a shopping street and local supermarket where you can pick up fresh fruit. Since we were centrally located in Kyoto, we made a quick trip over to Osaka on our first evening there. Just know that the trains stop after a certain hour so don't stay out too late in a different city without a way to get back. We were lucky in that we made our way back on one of the last trains out of Osaka back. While there, we also visited Nishiki which was a good ways away so take the subway or bus because our walk back in the afternoon was long and a bit exhausting. Check out was also smooth. The staff we encountered were great. We had a good stay at the Moxy and definitely would stay again.

Breakfast was very good. There is no fried food and the seasoning is only gentle. The way to take it on an ordinary plate without a partition without using a tray is very smart and good. On the day I stayed, I was surprised to find my favorite bread called Masa in Gion Bologna. I was impressed with the hospitality of delivering omelets in the open kitchen to my seat. The room is clean and functional, but it's too functional, so be careful that if you put the organisms in the first night and go out for consecutive nights, the electricity in the refrigerator will be turned off and it will not work (although this is my inadvertent). Very satisfied, I will use it again.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel, easy to check in, front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. We had a view over looking the train station and could not hear it. Morning breakfast was magnificent both western and Japanese breakfast selections. Like earlier station is across the street and a quick ride to site seeing area or back to the Kyoto station. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is superb ! But we had a hard time finding the entrance . there should be more info about the direction . we arrived at 1am and there wasn’t anyone to ask for directions . the room is really tiny and would only be good for a short stay. it is a convenient place as it is on top of the station . i’ve posted the exit of the hotel - kintetsu hachijo guchi

The accommodation was clean and the staff was very friendly. We have a system to call a taxi at the counter. It's a long way to walk from the subway station to the accommodation, so it's better to take a taxi when you have a lot of luggage.
