This is the second hotel I stayed in Kyoto. Before going to Aman, I read some of posts here that the service was bad. I then quite regret to make a room reservation though I was impressed by the photos and posts from website. Besides, I had a bad first impression toward Aman Kyoto as they replied email for at least 3 days. This is not acceptable for such hotel with high room rate. When I arrived the hotel for the first day, I was quite surprised by the service. The hotel staff load my luggages from taxi efficiently and sent them to rooms directly. Then I was guided by another staff for check-in. She served me and my child a cup of green tea. This green tea is very special. Its taste is green tea but has a floral smell. My kid and I were very impressed. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy one before leaving. Then we went to Living Pavilion to have lunch. After lunch, our room was ready and a staff took us to the room and introduced us the facilities. The room is spacious, even the bathroom. We stayed in room 楢 . It is near the Living Pavilion, hotel’s restaurant. It is quite quiet. For our staying of two nights, we almost had dinner in room. The Udon noodle tastes good. My son ate it in lunch time and two dinner time. The hotel also provides welcome desserts for every night. First night is dried persimmon and the second night is chocolates. The chocolates are very very yummy. I tried the spa massage for two times. It is really good. As only me and my son in this trip, he couldn’t use the complimentary onsen. I then paid for a private onsen. It is very comfortable. The room’s pillows are very hard. My kid and I didn’t have a good sleep. We asked the front desk to give us a softer one for second night. It still doesn’t fit for me. Thus I didn’t sleep well during my stay. The breakfast had three choices: Western, Japanese and wellness. We tried western and Japanese breakfast. Both are delicious. Especially French toast in western style and porridge in Japanese style. The taste is unforgettable. The hotel environment is very comfortable. It is far away from the city. Only trees and grass around us. Everywhere has fresh air. It refreshes me. If the bed and pillow fit me, it will be perfect. We also had lunch in Tak-An restaurant. The food is good. The staffs are very nice and kids-friendly. They are very tolerant to kids. The check-out process is also very smooth. Everything is well-prepared, even our luggages. We booked a transportation to the Kansai Airport through the hotel. The driver is nice.

From the moment we arrived at Roku Kyoto, we felt completely taken care of. From the warm greetings we received as we got out of the taxi to the genuine smiles and hospitality given to us at Reception. There is a pride that exudes from everyone at Roku Kyoto, and for good reason. It is an absolutely extraordinary hotel. But it's not just the beautiful accommodations and the incredibly thoughtful design throughout the property. Nor is it just the sumptuous food stunningly presented at every meal. It is the people who work there and represent the true heart and soul of what the Roku Kyoto experience is all about. My wife and I have traveled all around the globe and we have rarely encountered such a level of excellence. The architectural design, the interior design, the facilities and the grounds are all stunning. In fact, the photos from their website do not do it justice. The room we had on the 4th floor was gorgeous and the bed was perhaps the most comfortable bed we have ever encountered (and we travel often!). The tranquility, the views, the attention to detail throughout the hotel are are not just glorious but absolutely inspiring. The gorgeous pool is filled with water from the natural hot springs that abound in that area of Kyoto. It is a sumptuous experience to swim in that very special pool. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but it was the best we encountered in Japan. The food was beautifully prepared , the choices were extensive and stunningly displayed and the service was impeccable. In fact, service is another thing that sets this extraordinary hotel apart. It's not just well done, there is a pride and a joy that emanates from every member of the staff, no matter what their position. It's what gives this place true heart and soul and it's what elevates the experience. We will never forget our stay at Roku Kyoto and cannot wait to return! We would like to especially thank Kayo Naskagawa. Her attention to detail, her inherent ability to go the extra mile for a guest. Her sweetness and ease. The hardware aspect of the inn is perfect.　 It can't be helped that the maple leaves in the courtyard haven't turned red due to the climate and location, but I wish they had at least picked the brown and withered leaves. All of the staff who assisted us were foreigners, but I wonder if there are no Japanese staff stationed there full-time. Even if you give your name at check-in, it cannot be checked against the reservation list (I told you that you are third from the top of the list). I made a reservation that included breakfast, but I was only booked for the night (the check-in sheet said ”room only”, so I pointed this out and discovered the error). When I requested a luggage delivery service to deliver to my next hotel (in Osaka), I was told that they could only deliver to Osaka Station (the list of internet and in-room services also said that delivery to the hotel was possible). When I pointed this out, they called the delivery company to confirm and accepted the order.Even at that time, they did not tell me the name of the hotel in Osaka.The price was different from what was listed in the room list ( The price had gone up)). Breakfast is a normal Makunouchi bento. etc. I wanted to experience the atmosphere of Kyoto, so I decided to stay at a fairly expensive hotel, but I was disappointed.

11.11 I went to Osaka first. It was one or two stops away from Shinsaibashi. The hotel cost around 350 and the facilities were pretty good (there were a lot of Chinese people). But after I went to Kyoto, the hotel cost around 650 (far away from the business district and in Marumachi). Nearby, close to the JR line, it is a sunken entrance, not easy to find), it is much worse than the ones with more than 300. The room is very small, the bathroom is small, it is very cramped for two people to stand, and there is just enough room to put a The bed and suitcase are barely open, as shown in the picture when the door is pushed open. Although breakfast is included, it is almost nothing. There are only slices of toast, a small package of dry noodles, and drinks, see the picture. When it came time to check in, our order included tax (later the customer service said it was value-added tax), and they also charged us accommodation tax, which was 200 yen per person per night, which was outrageous... Of course, I have never stayed at this hotel at this price. I don’t know if other hotels in Kyoto are like this, ugh😮💨

We stayed here for 3 days at the end of December 2019 as a family of 4 adults. My parents stayed in a bigger room while my brother and I stayed in a normal twin room. The rooms come with Futon beds which are laid out for you on the Tatami. The service was very good and the front desk staff do speak English well enough to communicate with each other. The Ryokan hotel is very clean and comfortable. We were not able to go out to the Japanese garden as it was winter and thus closed but you have full view of it from the lobby area. The Onsen (and there are at least 3 onsens per gender) was very nice and comfortable (they open in the morning and after 4pm but not in between). Each Japanese hotel room also had its own toilet and bathtub which is also very comfortable. One suggestion for improvement is that the Futon should come with one more layer of cushion otherwise it’s quite hard for those not so used to the Japanese futons. Breakfast was a treat and the food was always very beautifully laid out. The Ryokan’s location is to the north-west of Kyoto. It’s not too accessible unless you have hired your own car (parking is free). There is also a mini-bus service that the Ryokan operates but we did not use it. There is a 7 Eleven about 1 minute’s drive away. One criticism is that the wifi in the Ryokan is not strong at all and you often get cut off. They should consider installing a better wifi system. I also think that the Wifi network is possibly funded partly by the government rather than by the Ryokan itself. They should certainly consider installing their own wifi system which cannot be that expensive. Dinner was quite expensive (about £45 equivalent) so we drove to the nearest station at Kita Oji which has a mall with several restaurants. If you want to take dinner at Ryokan Nenrinbo you’d need to tell the front desk 1 day in advance. For 3 nights, the standard room cost us HK$4500 while the bigger garden view room cost us HK$6700 for the bigger room (all inclusive of breakfast).

Because it is an overseas homestay, no breakfast is available. But the boss will prepare bread, butter, jam, etc. for free in the refrigerator, as well as free coffee, various teas, and Japanese snacks. There are three rooms in the hotel, and there are 3-4 people in larger rooms. The hotel owner is very welcoming, with very good sanitation and facilities to evaluate the five stars.

This hotel is suitable for self-driving tour, it is absolutely inconvenient to take a taxi. The room in the annex building is the original Japanese home (there are 10 sets of shared toilets and three sets of kitchens and kitchens). The soundproofing is not good but it feels very good (very clearly heard the sound next door) The yard is bigger than the house in the domestic standard mansion villa. It is not suitable for children. It is not suitable for the brothers to play (it will be noisy to other travelers). The main restaurant has a Japanese restaurant. The dinner and breakfast are very Japanese and the consumption is not expensive. Dinner day currency about 4000 breakfast 2000)

We had mixed reviews of this accomodation Pros - was a very large room two small doubles and a bunk perfect for families. Amenities are great with wifi, lots of kitchen utensils, stove, tea and coffee supplied, toothbrushes available, washing machine and tablets are provided with an inbuilt dryer system in the bathroom. Bathroom and shower area was also spacious. Beds are on the okay side but could be softer. The area itself is nice and quiet with a bus stop right out from we utilised every day, supermarket and Lawsons are across the road and you feel very safe. Would recommend for families. Cons - check in is in a different location 20minute taxi away so we had to catch a train to the check in office when arriving in Kyoto from Osaka, then a taxi to the accomodation after this which chewed up a few hours as we had to wait 45min in addition to check in due to busyness of the office. The area is a bit out of the way of everything next time I might consider staying at a different resi stay location closer to sights and facilities like shops etc. All the restaurants in the area seem to not open for breakfast until 11am so we had to have McDonald’s if we didn’t want to cook or travel too far for breakfast as we have a toddler (early riser). Same occurred at dinner time a lot of restaurants didn’t seem to be open the Monday or Tuesday we were there or opened too late for us (we travelled with a four year old). Our last disappointment was resi stay apparently have a strict not noise at night policy however another room partied until about 3am but there is no front desk or after hours phone number to call to complain / get the noise to stop. Was very frustrating as walls were very thin so we didn’t sleep very well. Overall we would stay with Resi Stay again but at another location due to Nishijin being a bit too out of the way for us.

Rented the western style room and I enjoy it a lot. There's a bed, side bed, table and a fridge. There's no TV in the room and personally I didn't need it. The TV is downstairs from the room. This is basically what I need when I'm out here. Shower here is also great and the staff treated me very well. When I brought some friends over, all of them were treated like they were staying there at well. It's next to a Lawson so you can pick up daily things if you need to. Also it's near a bus stop and walking distance to Kingakuji. If you're going to be in the area this place does well as a guest house!

It's a wonderful thing. The location is outstanding. If you take the bus, you will face the main street diagonally in front of the bus stop. ２０ seconds. I went on foot from Encho, but it takes about ２０, and if you can see Shimamura or McDo on your right, it's opposite. There are ３ keys, so you can rest assured. Speaking of hotels, ”suites”. The bedroom, living room, toilet, washroom and bath were all available alone. It's great to have a bathtub to get rid of fatigue. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, razor, comb, toothbrush, electric kettle, hot water drink, etc. There is no yukata, so bring your pajamas. It's very clean. The windows are double and block the sound. When I open the mado, I have to raise the volume of the TV with the sound of the car on the main street in front of me, but when I close the double mado, I can't hear it at all, and I can rest assured that there is a little 々 noise in the room. It's very clean. The bed is normal, and there is no problem if it is about １６７ CM, but tall foreigners seem to have a hard time. Two people can stay with plenty of room. If it is a family, ３ There is no problem if it is a family. ４ Even people are OK, ５ People may be a little tight, but there are futons. After all, it is close to Ritsumeikan University. I had a business at Ritsumeikan this time, but it's about １０－１３ on foot. ５ There is a supermarket within walking distance and there are restaurants, so you won't have a hard time. The inn answered immediately even if I asked various things in advance. Super recommended.
