Our stay at Kyoto Village was delightful and offered a perfect base for exploring Kyoto and the surrounding areas. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to major attractions like Nishiki Market and Gion, where we enjoyed strolling through Pontocho Street, sampling yakitori, and soaking up the quintessentially Japanese street atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with a parking permit for a nearby garage and even assisting with parking, which made the process stress-free.
Our room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed a casual meal of sushi we had purchased in Uji earlier in the day. After a long walk and some late-night supermarket shopping, we relaxed in the hotel's onsen—a truly peaceful way to end the evening.
The next day, after a convenient breakfast delivered to our room, we ventured out to Arashiyama and the Bamboo Forest. Despite the crowds, the scenic views and natural beauty were well worth the visit. Later, we headed to Fushimi Inari Taisha, where we managed to catch the last bit of sunlight and explore the shrine in a quieter, more serene atmosphere.
Overall, the location of Kyoto Village, coupled with its proximity to key attractions and the relaxing onsen, made this stay a great experience. We highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore Kyoto in comfort and style.

It was the first hotel to use
I don't know how to check in by myself.
When I go to the front desk for check-in, the woman in charge is standing vaguely without saying anything.
i was wondering what to do.
Enter it early! I was angry and when I entered, nothing came out, so I wonder if I could make a reservation?
If nothing came out, I would do it by name! !! I was yelled.
Isn't the front desk the face of the hotel?
Why do some people stay for the first time and yell at such a fight?
Usually, I think there are many hotels that greet you with a smile and give you the key and say that you are slow, but ...
It was written that I would help you check in later.
it wasn't crowded.
I think it was better not to help if it was yelling, and I was able to spend a leisurely time at the hotel.
I really felt bad.
It is a good hotel with good cleaning and delicious breakfast, but there is a person who yells at the front desk ...

For single room, the space is good and acceptable!
Location and transportation is good!
Only 3 laundry machines definitely is not enough for the whole hotel. Washing and drying need to use 2 hours.
Breakfast need to improve at least little bit.
Lockers are so good!

We stayed at the hotel at the end of September. The hotel is located near Omiya station, but about 20 minutes by bus from Kyoto station. There are chain supermarkets nearby. The hotel room is quite standard. There is air conditioning, a refrigerator, a kettle, a TV. The windows do not open. A simple breakfast is provided in the lobby. Rice porridge on water with Japanese additions and grain coffee from a coffee machine or tea. Unfortunately, only 1 key card was issued for 3 people. On the 4th floor, the wi-fi practically did not work.

This hotel has a perfect location. It has many bus stops around. There is a 7 11 at the basement and Sukiya in front of the hotel. The hotel room is big for Japanese standards. The room is clean and big. The only downside is they don't clean rooms everyday they change the towels and throw the trash. We stayed there for 3 nights. I enjoyed our stay, Bonus is, there was a quick snowfall around its vicinity. we will definitely go back if we go back to Kyoto.

The location of the hotel is great. Different bus stops surrounding the precinct. Stayed in a single bed room and had a wonderful stay. Room was spacious enough to open up my luggage fully and still have space to walk around. Bath tub available as well. Managed to get bath bomb from nearby supermarket.

CCarolinHotel was super nice! I loved almost everything.
The room was very big for Japanese standards and the staff was very professional and fluent in English.
Location couldn’t be better, right next to Kyoto Station and a lot of options for shopping and dining.
The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. They divide it in a western and japanese breakfast. But the western breakfast didn’t really have much western choices. And the coffee was not good. This could be improved.
Otherwise it was a perfect stay and I would recommend it. :-)
YYI HUEYThe accommodation experience in the townhouse is really authentic. The house is beautiful and very comfortable as soon as you enter the house. No matter how you take photos there, it is very interesting. We were very satisfied with the food at the hotel because we have family members who don’t eat beef. Although the hotel couldn’t do it at first, they were willing to communicate and let us choose different foods. Thank you very much!
독독락당The Pocket Hotel offers a no-frills experience at a reasonable price. The room is just large enough to accomodate the futon you are given to sleep on and a little more. For people who need a bed to sleep, I definitely would not recommend this location. That said, I would say the room has everything on might need for a good night's sleep. The air conditioner is perfectly functional, a necessity in Kyoto's sweltering summers. Additionally, the limited space definitely means that accomodating guests with gargantuan suitcases is probably not possible. The washroom, while well furnished and perfectly serviceable, is public and located outside of one's room and is accessed by the same key card as the one used for one's room. In addition, the shower, located on the first floor for men and second for women, is also public use and accessed in the same way as the washroom. That said, the showers are split into individual rooms, so I would suggest one is offered more than sufficient privacy despite its public nature. If these minor inconveniences are unacceptable for you, this hotel is not the right one for you. As for the hotel's location, the hotel is fairly well positioned to go see Kiyomizudera and is a short walk from the subway. In addition, there are a number of great restaurants in the vicinity. In particular, there is a great abundance of ramen restaurants so it could be decent location to stop by to sample a number of different bowls. Between Daikoku Ramen, Ramen Rin, Ramen Yokozuna, Ginjo Ramen Kubota, and New Taihou, I enjoyed my daily dose of noodles for sure. It is also worth noting that there is a convenience store across the street and a pharmacy a little down the street. The pharmacy is a great place to pick up 2L bottles of drinks, but be warned that they might not be refrigerated. It's also worth noting that there is a Yoshinoya, McDonald's, and Yayoi Ken nearby so if you ever feel the need for a quick meal, it can easily me solved at a moment's notice. Overall, I would say this hotel is not one to stay at for the hotel experience, but rather as an option simply have a place to rest with proper privacy.
PPui SheungThe hotel is located near the Kyoto Station. The room size is larger than many hotels in Japan. The hotel provide free dessert and drinks after lunch hour, some snacks with beer or wine after 6pm. The breakfast is delicious and had lots of choice. During my stay, the hotel provide materials for making a tatami coaster. It is worth to stay in this hotel. I will choose this again when I come back to Kyoto.
CCkyankcTitle: An Extraordinary Stay at an Exquisite Kyoto Gem
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly remarkable hotel in Kyoto, and I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant establishment until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations.
Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage.
The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city.
The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for sightseeing and dining were invaluable, enabling me to make the most of my time in Kyoto.
The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and elegance. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, it exuded a sense of serenity that allowed me to unwind after a day of exploration. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the carefully curated amenities.
Mmedstud1Location is perfect. Very near Kyoto station, less than 5 minutes walk. Room was very comfortable! Toilet and shower are separated. Staff were very courteous. You need to purchase detergent at 50 yen for laundry. Use of machines is free. Onsen was great. There’s a sauna and multiple shower cubicles. Also features outdoor onsen. There’s a basic gym as well. Didn’t try the breakfast.
GGuest UserThis hotel has wonderful costumer services and the employees speak many languages. Right up the street there is a 7/11 store for all your snack run, there are cafe and restaurant within walking distance. The Karasuma-Oike station is literally 3-5 minutes walk. The best part is the traveler’s store that is about a 10 min walk. I been wanting to go there and finally got to visit it. This store has stationary items such as notebooks that can have you record your journey.
Wwei.yThe location is good. The breakfast 90% same for continuous 2 days.
Room is slightly small but there is a two pax couch and a small movable table which i feel very convenient.
The only downside is there is a non local that can speak english guide us when we do check in.
I book the hotel 4 months ago and been try to write in and text the hotel requested my parents room and my room need to be same floor so that it is easy got me to take care of two old folks that dont know how to speak neither english or japanese.
However when do check in they assign us different floor and the staff told me that is it subject to availability which i dont agree with him.
After sometime he agree try to change a room for me and my parents room just 3 room beside me!!!
GGuest UserVery polite and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was ok and they offered both japanese and continental options. The standard rooms on the 2nd floor had no view as there was a large wall in front of the window so i would definitely not recommend this option. The premium rooms are on higher floors and offer better view, if that is what you are going after. Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay for a few nights
AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam,
I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard.
However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements:
1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue.
2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition.
3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience.
4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated.
5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space.
6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering.
In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction.
If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards,
