The location is excellent and right in the downtown of Kyoto but not in the front street which will be too crowded and noisy, still there were some noisy from the restaurants and bar nearby which still played loud music even after 12:00AM, so not ideal for those people who needs total silence to sleep. This is probably the necessary evil when live in the downtown hotel, but the hotel is already in the back alley so felt a bit better. Cannot consider the service top quality since the hotel front desk is located at 8th floor, and there is only one person tending the luggage at ground level till 6PM, so no service can be offered at ground level, this is the part can improve since some of the high floor hotel do have ground floor service crew unless in a big commercial building complex. The room is nicely decorated and everything feels new, no complaint about the room. Although the breakfast is a bit disappointed given the very limited selection of foods and Japanese style breakfast can only offer limited number (25 serving per day?), this part can definitely make some improvement, at least inform the guest about the limited number so we can book in advance.

The room was very very nice! Don’t mention the 13 square meters shown on the introduction, it should be at least 50 square meters. There are guest rooms, rooms, and bathrooms are separated. The toilet is on the other side. All are covered with bamboo mats. It is very comfortable and clean, and the white socks are not stained with dust. When we arrived, the bath water had already been placed in the pine wooden tub, and everything should be put in a place where we could easily get it. There is a faint woody fragrance in the whole room, which is so healing. The service is very thoughtful and meticulous, even if you don't understand the language, you can also dance and communicate. The most memorable thing is that his food is so delicious, it is the most worthwhile hotel in Kyoto. The proprietress is very kind, and will definitely stay here again

The transportation is convenient. Exit 3 of Kyoto Shiyakusho Station on the Tozai Subway Line leads directly to the downstairs of the hotel. Although the facilities are not smart enough, they are well maintained and easy to use. The service is particularly good. The Japanese breakfast set menu is exquisite and delicious, and the buffet breakfast has both Japanese and Western styles, as well as Chinese steamed dumplings and siomai. It is very close to Kamogawa. There are many delicious restaurants in nearby Kiyamachi (mainly Western) and Pontocho (mainly Japanese). The restaurant is relatively late. Generally would like to rate 98/100 to this hotel! 👍🏻Location: Just right beside the subway station! Very convenient to travelers who are not familiar with Kyoto, especially after a tiring trip I just want to get to hotel as soon as possible without any hassles if possible. And the plus point is even this hotel is facing street but it’s quiet and no noise, besides that, along the street go straight down, got a lot of food and shops on shijo high street! 👍🏻Service: Service staff are friendly and professional! They are always keen to listen to your requests and answer your inquiries and follow your instructions accordingly! Surprisingly, they even went extra mile to make their customers more comfortable, I can feel they are taking their pride in their jobs which touches me. 👍🏻Cleanliness and Amenities also on point! The hotel is very new btw. The only 2 advices I would like to mention: 1. For my room type, there is difficulty to fit in big luggage, let alone for 2 persons so in that case please book bigger room. 2. Breakfast choice is quite limited, so if you had high expectation of hotel’ breakfast you might won’t be surprised. I still strongly recommend this hotel to people and will definitely visit it again as I really had a pleasant stay there.

The house is very spacious, clean and tidy. It is such a blessing to live in such a big house in Japan! Two bedrooms, a large living room, two large beds, four tatami mats, a washing machine with air-drying function, and a bath room. The fly in the ointment is that there is only one shower room and it is inconvenient for the family to take a bath. Everything else is good, but it's too hard to find. It was more than ten o’clock. According to Ctrip’s map, it’s not this house at all. I couldn’t find it for an hour by myself. Later, fortunately, I met an enthusiastic local person, a couple, and helped us find it together for an hour and communicated on various telephones. , I couldn’t find it when I searched the map. It turned out to be in the small alley behind where we were standing. Suggestion: At obvious turning points, hang up the signboard of the homestay. The map of Ctrip is wrong and needs to be corrected.

High evaluation of word of mouth, good cospa, location, choose this. The room has a Japanese taste and is eye-catching with hand wipe art with a slightly unusual pattern. The building itself seems old, but the bathrooms have been renewed and are clean and there is no problem. There are many storage places such as small drawers, and it seems to be useful for long stays, and the chair is comfortable to sit. Lighting is a big problem, the illumination is low and the darkness is disappointing, but the color of this light bulb is so lonely ... I couldn't relax. I slept well on the back side opposite the entrance without noise. Breakfast is quite praised, but it is normal. The location is easy to go anywhere in the city 々, and you can feel rich just by window shopping at the nearby Sanjo-dori boutique.

The location is good. Keihan train and bus stations are nearby. There are also coffee shops and restaurants in the downtown area. You can have breakfast in the hall downstairs, but you have to wait for a table. The front desk is polite, check-in is manual, check-out machines are self-service, check-in is at 3pm, and you can store your luggage if you arrive early. The room is spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the shower has a large flow of water. The only drawback is that the sliding door of the bathroom is a bit noisy.

I stayed at ARU for a week during my trip to Kyoto in late autumn and I was very satisfied! The price/performance ratio is too high. Convenient transportation: Sanjo Bridge and the city subway station are very close. The hotel is only a three- to five-minute walk from the alley to the main street and there are buses. It is super convenient to go anywhere from Arashiyama to Kyoto JR Station. Food and drink paradise: There are many delicious food in the areas of Kiyamachi Dori and Pontocho, and they are open even late at night. Sashimi grilled meat, sushi, fried steak, sukiyaki hotpot... You can choose from high or low, and there are many choices to enjoy every day. The hotel's breakfast is mainly Japanese style, but also simple Western style, salads and various snacks, rice, miso soup, bread and desserts. There were two mornings where there was soup tofu, the pride of Kyoto. The service is also very enthusiastic, and any questions will be answered carefully. Be careful to put a clean room sign when you go out, otherwise it will not be cleaned before the appointed day.

The concept of this hostel is great - something better and more inclusive than a capsule hotel with large, comfortable beds. Pros: The common area and kitchen were really nice, and the free beer hour provided a great way to connect with other travelers. The common area has huge windows looking onto downtown Kyoto. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and spoke English. You are given a keycard for access to the bed floors and after hours. You need to reserve breakfast the day before, but it's right next to St Marcs Cafe which I thought was a great option, so IMO you don't need to use the hostel's breakfast. The showers were good, and I never saw them full despite a lot of people staying here at this time. The laundry machine seemed easy to use as well. The location in downtown Kyoto is obviously great and close to bus stops to reach popular temples on the east side. Cons: The only problem I faced was that the iPod to control my bed and lights rarely worked! The first night, I was unable to recline the bed into sleeping mode or turn off the lights, so staff had to come reset something on top of the pod to get it to connect. It stopped working again after that, and I could not turn the lights on in the morning. I also did not get to use the special wake-up features. Because my stay was only a few days and I wasn't spending leisure time in the pod, I decided to just deal with the unlit pod. Also, I was the only person who I spoke with who had this issue. But the hotel should improve the engineering of the iPod controllers or provide backup physical controls on the side. This wasn't an issue for me, but my medium-sized suitcase would not fit in the pull-out luggage rack under the bed. I had to keep the suitcase closed and on its side between the luggage rack and the screen. I don't think that travelers with large suitcases would be able to fit them in the pod, you'd probably have to find an empty corner in the hallway. Overall, I would recommend staying here, just hope you aren't the unlucky one who gets assigned to a broken pod.

Room facilities are in Nordic minimalist style and newly renovated. The key is that the room is not square. The bed is facing the bathroom, and the TV is on the left side of the bathroom door. You can't watch it directly. It feels weird. There is a temple on the inner side, guarding a group of cemeteries. If you are concerned, please avoid it. For breakfast, you can choose one of the five baked rice dishes, and the others are salad, soup, yogurt and beverage coffee. If you stay for several days, it is not recommended to include breakfast. It would be too monotonous to have the same breakfast every day.

This is not the first hotel I stayed in Kyoto during this period as i stayed 2 different hotels in Kyoto during this trip, but this is the only hotel that asked to pay for a fee. Though fee is not huge, advise travellers to check clearly before booking. Location is not bad and alot of shops around it but do note car cannot be stopped directly in front of hotel as car could not enter the street as its all shops around it.

I stayed at Hotel Muse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi MEITETSU, which was not able to stay on the opening day (October 31, 2020). Because there was a cheap plan for [Kinki 2 Fu 4 prefectural people limited]. It would have been because it opened at a severe time of self-restraint, the room was a very new impression. The lobby and restaurant have a higher feeling than business hotels.

The location is near the station and the Asahikawa is close and no problem. The drinker street is near the suburbs, so it is a very good location for banquet. However, I think the urinary of this inn is good taste of the meal. Anyway, it is good. And the best is rice. The feeling of a little bit of a swell is great. Is it the atmosphere of the meal? It is a pity that it is narrow and the outside is not looking out. The rooms are one view now, but they feel like they are all over. The bath is a bit small, but it may be good to have a large bath.

After mistakenly going to the other ”Piece Hostel” (the one near the Kyoto Station) where I thought I had booked, I took the subway over to Sanjo. The location is great, in the midst of all the action in restaurants, bars, etc. It is a bit of a hike from the subway, but not too bad. Rooms are small but comfortable and the hostel has a tremendous amount of place for hanging around and a well equipped kitchen. The staff was terrific. Best of all was Oytun, a young man from Turkey who, in 4 years in Japan, has become fluent in Japanese and English. He was extraordinary. Always willing to help with anything and make valuable suggestions. He made the stay a real joy.
