Review of Pension Michel – Roche Bois, La Digue (Seychelles) We recently stayed at Pension Michel and unfortunately, our experience was generally disappointing. From our late arrival (around 7:00 PM), the welcome was less than warm. No one presented themselves as a point of contact, neither to explain who to contact if needed, nor to inform us about the guesthouse's services or nearby activities. We thought this essential information would be provided the next day, but nothing was repeated or explained. This complete lack of support gives the impression that guests are left to fend for themselves. During our stay, a power outage affected the entire house (and probably the neighborhood). The air conditioner stopped working, and the temperature in the room quickly became unbearably hot. It was at this point that we, along with other guests, noticed that no night watchman was present and that guests were left to deal with the situation alone. A real weak point in terms of safety and comfort. Regarding breakfast, the experience was very mixed. The intention to offer quality service was clearly there; the staff were smiling and pleasant, and the table service was attentive, sometimes including a small homemade pastry which added a nice touch. But the hot drinks were a major disappointment: only low-quality instant coffee and a single vanilla-flavored tea, also of mediocre quality. For a destination like the Seychelles, this is frankly regrettable. The room itself left a bad taste. The bright green walls are in poor taste (even if some might like it). The bed, while adequate in terms of comfort, creaked as soon as you moved. But the real problem was hygiene: a significant amount of hair was found in the room upon our arrival. Finally, a particularly shocking point: when we asked the price of laundry, we were quoted… €35. Thinking there had been a misunderstanding, we asked for the price to be repeated, but the answer was the same. Not only was the price exorbitant, but it was also quoted in euros, even though the local currency is the Seychellois rupee. A very unpleasant and disrespectful practice towards travelers. In short: despite some efforts at breakfast, the entire experience was marred by a complete lack of welcome, insufficient assistance, hygiene issues, and questionable pricing practices. 👉 For us, it's a one-way trip to Pension Michel. Fortunately, we were able to continue our stay in other establishments much better suited to our needs and offering genuine hospitality.

Everything was very clean, good location, nothing to complain about.

A wonderful hotel. Quiet, clean, delicious breakfasts. The territory is green, flowers and fruit trees grow. You can rent bicycles. 5 minutes from the hotel there is a park with the beach of Source D'Argent. Transfers are organized upon request. Everything is fast and clear. Cleaning every day. There is shampoo, hair conditioner and shower gel in the bathroom. Safe, tea, coffee, glasses and mugs. Mini fridge and hair dryer. Huge wardrobe and a very comfortable bed. The staff is friendly and does their job well. Of course, the advantage of the hotel is that it is located away from the noisy La Paz and the pier.

I chose this accommodation primarily for the restaurant, which was essential for us, as the property is far from the city center and the restaurant area. However, when we arrived, exhausted from the long journey, we discovered there was no restaurant on site. There's no reception; in fact, there's a desk, but it's always empty. The breakfast lady is present, but she gave us the impression that everything we asked for was a nuisance. My suitcase was turned upside down during cleaning, so I found all my clothes in disarray. The bed had springs, some broken, so it was painful to sleep on, although the room looked beautiful and comfortable. Unfortunately, our room adjoins the kitchen, and already in the early morning we could hear all the noises of breakfast preparation, the phone ringing, and guests having breakfast. Beautiful nature and wonderful plants. Espresso coffee was provided in the room. The Nepalese woman and her husband were very kind and efficient, unlike the woman from La Digue, whose name we don't remember, who avoided saying goodbye on our last afternoon.

Sehr nettes Personal, Zimmer wurde jeden Tag sauber gemacht und mit Blumen dekoriert. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und jeden Tag abwechslungsreich! Kann dir Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Kommen wieder!

La chambre était très grande, le personnel super sympa en francais et en anglais, le petit déjeuner est tres bon avec de bon fruits frais et des tres bon jus de fruits.

La pension Michel Villa Roche Bois est une demeure magnifique où le personnel est aux petits soins avec ses hôtes. Tout est impeccable, et tout est disponible sur place (vélos, petits déjeuners, diners créole excellents....)
