"I stayed here for one day last year and couldn't get enough, and this time I stayed for three days and still couldn't get enough. Mainly because the place is large and there are few people. This time I specially brought a tennis racket, and I take my son to play tennis several times a day. This is the best maintained outdoor tennis court I have ever seen. "The bedding was satisfactory, and the location was close to USCD; overall, I was satisfied. However, there were a few minor issues: 1. Two bottles of purified water were provided in the room on the first day, but not after that. The front desk said that they could only be purchased in the adjacent room, where a 500ml bottle of purified water cost $6.70 (this same bottle costs 17 cents in a supermarket). During my 9-day stay, purified water was mostly not provided, occasionally one bottle was provided, and then two bottles were provided on the last day. I suggest the hotel management standardize this practice, either providing two bottles for all stays or none at all, instead of leaving guests guessing. 2. The booking confirmation mentioned toothpaste, so I removed the toothpaste from my luggage. However, I couldn't find any in the room upon arrival and had to buy it myself. I don't know why. 3. The room description mentioned a balcony, which I thought I could sit on and enjoy the breeze, but it turned out to be very narrow, not even big enough for a chair, and seemed useless. I suggest future guests avoid choosing rooms with balconies. 4. The room is poorly soundproofed, and you can often hear outside noise. Fortunately, it is a relatively quiet community, but people with poor sleep should choose this option with caution."

"We loved our stay at resident inn la jolla. We have to go the ucsd regularly during our stay. The location of this hotel is close to the university. Bus stations just a few walk. Supermarkets are also not very far away. A little more walk can reach the blue line. Given that we dont drive, the location of this hotel is not bad indeed. The room is equiped with a full kitchen setup so we can cook. Also the room is spacious and bed is comfortable. At night the neighbourhood is quiet too which is good for resting. The breakfast of this hotel is also good, though not a lot options. The only downside is the TV in our room is not working all the time. Sometimes it won't take command from the remote or the buttons on the side-board which is weird. Overall we enjoyed our stay."

"When I went there, it was the off-season of travel. Because the language was not very good, I didn't expect to communicate with the hotel staff to be very smooth. They were warm and thoughtful, but they had a sense of boundaries, and they also helped me recommend discount coupons for the surrounding restaurants. Close to the sea, the bed was dry and warm, and there was no trace of tide at all. The front desk staff was very professional. It rained one day and reminded us that we could bring the umbrella at the door. It was really intimate!"

"This hotel is divided into new and old buildings, so confirmation is required when booking. Generally speaking, new buildings are more expensive and are independently called ”The Pines”. I booked an old building, but a full sea view room. Check-in time is 4pm and I arrived at 10:30am. There was a vacant room on the first floor of their new building. Considering that my luggage was relatively heavy, I chose the first floor of the new building. You can see a little bit of the sea view😁. The room is newly renovated, clean and spacious. Due to the rain, the waves were a bit loud at night. The hotel is in a great location and there is a cafe on the first floor of the hotel. (Flower umbrellas are only top-stroke, so they are not friendly to girls with long hair who don’t want to wash their hair)."

"Checked in late at night and it went smoothly. The staff was very helpful. They brought my luggage up, placed it in my room, got an extra bed for my child, and brought a baby playpen for my baby. Very quiet hotel which I preferred. We also got to see some weddings out our balcony which was beautiful, overall we had a wonderful weekend! Great amenities and hospitality! We will definitely be back."
