Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines

Black's Beach La Jolla|8.08km from city center
Stayed for five nights for a business trip. I will admit, due to its proximity to the Torrey Pines Golf Course I expected the hotel to be fancier than it was. It wasn't fancy, but it was a very solid, nice hotel in a great location! When I say ”great location” I am referring to it being right on the golf course, which is right on the ocean! The grounds are beautiful and serene. Can't be beat! If you are looking for a location that is walkable to a lot of restaurants and things to do, this is not your place. I don't golf, so can't speak to that side of things. I do enjoy walks in nature, and to that end, the hotel's proximity to Torrey Pines State Park is amazing. It was less than a mile walk to the entrance to the park trails. I was there for work so wish I had more time to explore, but just the little bit I did was refreshing. The trails are well-marked, and the front desk will give you a printed map if you ask. One minor shoulder shrug came from the fitness center. It's quite small for the size of the hotel. Three treadmills, two of which were out of order, four ellipticals, and two bikes. There was a variety of free weights and one multi-machine as well. No water cooler. I was there for a conference that included a lot of active-duty military, so you can imagine that space was at a premium in the mornings. I would love to see an upgraded facility that takes advantage of the views! I didn't use the restaurant, but the lunch and cocktail hour the conference had catered was very good. There is a coffee shop in the lobby that brews Starbucks drinks and has a variety of pastries and bottled drinks, as well. My room was quite large and had everything I needed. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Shower was large, water pressure good, and the bathroom was definitely larger than most hotel baths.

The Shoal Hotel la Jolla Beach

We asked for a quiet king room on the second floor for one night. Got it. Enjoyed a wonderfully appointed exceptionally clean room. Bathroom was a delightful surprise. Too crispy to try the pool. Staff was first rate. Price was oh so reasonable. Location: fabulous. Smart choice for us, and any travelers.

Good location and surrounding environment. But there must be a car. The breakfast is ok, the staff are very friendly and polite. The room is clean and the kitchen is fully equipped. It is very convenient to heat up the packaged dishes that go out to eat.

This hotel is located on the side of lajolla cove , but the building facilities are a bit old, the staff's service is not good, the check-in time is 4 pm, but the room is cleaned with few staff, even if it is urged, it will not be completed until 3 o'clock. But the departure time is 11 am. Most importantly, if you are carrying a larger suitcase and are not arranged in a room in the small building below, the distance to mention the suitcase to the room is very long, and 90% are steps, not even ramps. The hotel has several small buildings, the entrance and exit signs are unclear, and the room is in different directions. Take the large suitcase, before arriving at the room, I was very uncomfortable, and the girl collapsed. The suite room is quite big and can be simply cooked. But the facilities are a bit old, the air conditioning system is very noisy, the sound insulation is poor upstairs and downstairs, and the carpet is dirty. Towels, bedding is not bad (this may catch up with the new period) have a small pool, anyway, I have no requirements for public facilities. The price is between 350 and 550 dollars, some are not worth it. Anyway, don't choose a large suitcase. The wheel is on the steps and it is directly bad. There are fewer hotels on Trip.com in this area, but there are actually many small hotels to choose from. It is recommended to check several websites.

The snacks and refrigerator in the suite are empty, and I call every day to ask for water. No one picks up the busy food delivery service on weekends, or takeaway is fast. The point is that it is completely different from the room in the picture. It is recommended to look at the official website. Anyway, it is uncomfortable to live in. There are two restaurants, the restaurant is closer to the golf course and the service is very good. Extra beds are available at the accommodation, but a butler service is provided before going to bed at night. There is a garage. You can park by yourself or valet. My door is parked by myself. The parking fee is about $ 30 a night, right? I don't remember the price clearly. The environment is very good, suitable for taking children to travel, to Sea World, urban areas, wildlife parks are convenient. I didn't take a lot of pictures, I just took a photo of the golf course in the hotel and it was open to the public. There are two golf courses in the south and north. It is cheap for locals to play for about $ 40, but it costs about $ 240 for outsiders.
