Blue Marlin Dive Komodo

The well-organized operation process was impressive, and each diver was carefully looked after. The briefing was also fun and led to a continuous enjoyable dive. In particular, Sandra and Dottie, professional guides, were very helpful to me, even though I am an instructor.

I put a note for the whole (hotel, dives and Dragons outing). The dives deserve a much higher rating. - The hotel: By staying in one of the 3 rooms, you will only be able to sleep from 10:30 p.m. because of the restaurant's kitchen adjoining the rooms. 3:30 a.m. awakened by a boat's siren (apparently twice a week) then 4:15 a.m. the Islamists who go at it for 30 minutes. Note however that the noise is very muffled which is exceptional for the city. 5:45 a.m. start-up of the kitchen. Dive start at 7am. In short, don't think about being able to sleep. Apart from the noise of the kitchen, it is the city that does that. And it's hard to tell cooks to make less noise. The 2 points to easily improve: the faulty Wi-Fi and above all the really mediocre breakfast (the restaurant offers a completely different breakfast). The rooms are ok, clean and cleaned daily. Beautiful private balcony. No complaints. -The dives: Strengths: Fast boat, decent size dive group, we made dives in the North considered to be the best spots. The briefing on the boat is also of very good quality. The intentional crew. The guides are professional and efficient in spotting both large and macro underwater. Points for improvement: give hooks on the boat and not underwater when strong currents are expected on the site (in the water it's too late!) and observe divers more often during the dive. - The dragons/Komodo outing: From 5:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beautiful snorkeling spots (mantas, turtles in quantity). Just the 1st spot on the uninteresting pink beach on which we stayed too long. Marlin subcontracts to Alexandria Cruise. There were 6 of us and we were always ahead of the other boats, which is really nice. Crew of 3 friendly people. The point of disappointment, however, is the high point of the release: the dragons. We had the choice between 3 tours: 30 min (short circuit), 1 hour (medium circuit) and 2-3 hours (long circuit). This is a false choice: only short and medium circuits are actually offered. We did the average which actually lasts only 25 min with a guide barely answering questions. The remaining 35 minutes are to see 2 or 3 dragons on the edge of the beach and especially to go to the shops. Extremely disappointing! Point of improvement: remove pink beach (we already see one during the first ride) to provide more time for the dragons.
