Chaotic management and arbitrary deductions! Domestic partners must pay attention to the confusion when booking this hotel. On the day of check-in, because there was an additional fee for bringing children, the note written by the front desk clerk was 80 euros ➕ city tax, which worked out to 200 euros for 2 days, and the payment was deducted on the same day. , signed by me. As a result, 237 euros were deducted at 7 o'clock in the morning on the day we left, and 90 euros were deducted for breakfast at noon. Because our schedule was early every day, we didn't book breakfast, and we didn't even have breakfast. Therefore, 2 charges were deducted without my knowledge. This is the first time that children cannot stay in a standard double room without an extra bed. On the first day of check-in, the credit card pre-authorization amount was automatically deducted on the second day without notification or permission. Overall, a good place to stay. For the price, I expected a little more in terms of elegance and luxury, but I can't think of a single complaint. The front desk and all hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was extremely convenient with the train station just being less than a 5 minute walk away.

Room air conditioning unit was not cooling enough and moldy at the vent. Not expected from a five star hotel. Despite notifying reception nothing was done except for a thank you for notifying us. Will never stay there again.

Our stay at the Renaissance was very disappointing overall.
The good:
- Location is excellent
- Front desk staff is polite
The bad:
- No bottled water in the room and 9chf per bottle if you ask for it at reception
- No Do Not Disturb sign in our room, and had to deal with housekeeping knocking and asking them to come back later. Asked the front desk for a DND sign but never got one.
- Excessive noise from the hallways and of doors being slammed shut constantly
- Body wash ran out and wasn't refilled during our stay, and the trash can wasn't emptied on one of the days either. Also found hair that didn't belong to us in the bathroom.
I believe the Renaissance hotel can and should do much better, and I'll be searching for a different hotel next time I visit Lucerne.
