The night sky at Lake Tekapo was spectacular! It was only a 10-minute drive back to our accommodation, and there was parking right at the door. Stays in Lake Tekapo are really expensive, around 1500 during peak season, making it the hardest place to book on our New Zealand trip. But it was definitely worth it!

This was the most expensive and worst-quality apartment I stayed at during my entire New Zealand trip. The apartment is spacious, surrounding is quiet. But, from the bathroom to the kitchenware, everything was the cheapest available. I've never seen such a small sink. Everything from the slippers by the door and the blankets on the sofa to all the pots, pans, and cups glasses was dirty, as if they hadn't been washed. I stayed two nights and received absolutely no service—no coffee machine, no one to change towels, etc. I would never recommend it.

The room was very clean and quiet at night. It had a washing machine and a small kitchen. I was lucky enough to see a rainbow from my room when I woke up. I arrived by intercity bus, and the bus station was over 1km away, so dragging my luggage uphill was a bit tiring.

The facilities were clean and the location was great. The kitchen was well-equipped, perfect for cooking. If the weather was good, the views of Lake Tekapo were stunning, and the stargazing was absolutely incredible. There were a lot of bugs near the lake, though, and I had to deal with a few myself.
