Excellent accommodation and rooms as always. Great breakfasts too. Brilliant location within Ambleside and the added bonus of parking. Easy access to walks, buses and other eating places for the evenings. And if you get a little damp on the fells there is a drying room for all your wet kit.

Such a wonderful spot in Ambleside! I stayed at The Gables Guest House for a week during my visit to the Lake District and Ambleside and it was a very lovely experience. I was very well taken care of and I loved my room, quiet and with a cosy feeling! I give my warmest recommendations to stay at The Gables Guest House to anyone visiting Ambleside!

It was alright. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was OK (except the sausages, which weren't very typical and not particularly nice). Car park was handy and whilst there was nothing wrong with it, we didn't feel it was very welcoming. They really need to sort out their booking process. We booked, gave all our info, then a couple of days later had to do online check-in giving all the same info again. Was told by email that this was compulsory. This is a small hotel in the Lake District, not the Holiday Inn Heathrow. Online checking seems an unnecessary hassle.

The Gables is situated in a perfect location for visiting Ambleside and the Lake District, we were greeted by the owner who carried our bags in for us and made us a pot of tea, a very nice welcome. There is limited parking on site but spaces easy to find close by. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend if visiting the lakes.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND A fantastic guest house in a great location. Rooms were very very clean and the hosts were so attentive. My partner and I have stayed here before and it never lets us down. We'll definitely be returning again later in the year

The hosts were lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was well equipped, warm and the bed was really comfy. We both slept like logs!!! There was plenty of hot water and there was loads of pubs and restaurants with in a 5 minute walk. Perfect stay

Excellent BnB located in Central Ambleside. Fantastic breakfast selection and welcoming hosts. Property set over 3 floors facing beautiful park and church. The rooms are comfortable and stylish. Ambleside is a great base to walk from or use the local buses to access the Lakes.

Having stayed here previously, we had no reservations in to staying here again. Sharyn & Mark are most accommodating along with their staff. The cosy rooms are always spotless with the beds and towels changed daily. A hearty and tasty breakfast is available before leaving for your daily pursuit. Being situated in Ambleside means you have access to public transport to all the major towns. If you are driving around the Lakes, you are also close to all the major routes. We couldn't recommend a stay at the Gables too highly. You will not be disappointed and will no doubt return for further stays.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were very good and freshly made to order. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. It has a great location within Ambleside. There is a small car park on site too. We booked direct on one of their offers - good value for money
