I recently stayed at this Premier Inn and there were a couple of positives worth mentioning. The free parking was very convenient, and the receptionist on arrival was friendly and welcoming. The location itself was good and made getting around easy. However, my stay was let down by a few significant issues. The air‑conditioning in my room wasn’t working, and with the extreme heatwave at the time, this made the room very uncomfortable. A portable fan had been placed in the room, but it didn’t provide enough relief. I would have appreciated being contacted beforehand to warn me about the issue — Premier Inn usually does this when their restaurant is being refurbished, so I expected the same level of communication. It would have given me the option to cancel or make alternative arrangements. I also found faeces on the toilet tissue dispenser, which appeared to be left from a previous guest. This was extremely disappointing and not acceptable from a hotel that normally maintains good standards. Overall, while the staff were pleasant and the free parking was helpful, the lack of working air‑conditioning and the cleanliness issue meant my stay fell short of expectations.
