JJustanothertravellerHotel Kvl in Phnom Penh stands out for its prime location, nestled directly beside the Royal Palace and the river, making it a prime spot for tourists looking to explore the city's historical and cultural landmarks. The hotel itself is equipped with modern and stylish furnishings, ensuring a comfortable stay. The bed was particularly comfortable and the breakfast was a highlight, being both delicious and served à la carte, allowing for a personalized dining experience in the morning.
However, our experience took a turn when it came to the transfer service from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh. The cost of over $180 for the transfer felt exorbitant, especially given the condition of the vehicle and the service provided. Being transported in an older car, coupled with a driver who was not only unable to communicate in English but also constantly distracted by multiple ringing mobile phones, significantly detracted from our overall experience. Despite attempts to use Google Translate, communication was futile, and the incessant noise became a source of irritation.
Given the high price, our expectations for the transfer service were not met, leading us to conclude that utilizing a service like „Grab“ for a fraction of the cost would be a far better option in the future. On a more positive note, the transfer service from the hotel to the airport was priced at $20, which felt more reasonable and within acceptable limits.
Another significant issue was the noise level in our room. Situated on the top floor directly beneath the hotel's rooftop bar, the sound levels late into the night were intolerable. The booming music and lively atmosphere of the bar, while perhaps enjoyable for some, felt more like being in a nightclub than a hotel room. This was particularly unwelcome as we sought to rest and recover from the exhausting transfer earlier in the day.
In conclusion, while Hotel Kvl boasts an excellent location and modern amenities that contribute to a comfortable stay, the high cost and poor execution of the transfer service from Sihanoukville, coupled with the disruptive noise from the rooftop bar, marred our experience. Future guests would do well to consider alternative transportation options and inquire about room placement to ensure a more tranquil stay.
CC_Y_FWe went to Phnom Penh for business trip and decided to stay in this hotel. The location of the hotel is great and convenient. Many restaurants and entertainment activities are available nearby. The only downside of this hotel was that the room is quite small. Everything else is good for me.
MMaxBurgerlocation is exceptional right in red light district.
Room is clean and have everything necessary even have a room safe . The rooftop bar and infinity pool add the perfection of the hotel
Staff at the hotel was kind and friendly
Will Highly recommend this hotel to those who plan to have a good time
BbrianmQ8209UUWe arrived and were welcomed from the start. The check in went smoothly. The rooms were great, clean and just right. Lovely pool thrown in which was just right post full day of touring. The hotel is great location and we walked to restaurant and local bars. Helpful staff from the start to finish. Thank you.
KKim Kia BlueI love this hotel. Located not far from many popular attraction and a lot of restaurants and bars close by. The staff is very friendly and was able to communicate using English. They were very pleasant and always smiling. Also, they were very helpful. The superior room with city view was lovely. It had a full size fridge, a water dispenser, a microwave, hair dryer, table, king size bed, tv, kettle, lots of storage, water heater, full size mirror and a vanity size mirror. The room was very clean. No molds in the bathroom. Towels and sheets were very clean, white and smelled very good. Rooms are cleaned every day which includes changing of sheets and towels.
The hotel has enough amenities for a stay in holiday. The pools on the 13th and 39th floor are beautiful. These floors also has a steam room and gym available from 7am to 9pm. The entire place was clean and all workers greeted me with a smile. There is also a reading room, game room and a playground on the 13th floor.
If you stay at this hotel for long, you don’t have to worry about dirty laundry as this service is free of cost. If that’s not a good bargain, I don’t know what is! This apart from the fact that my stay was for 5 days and 4 nights and my total was less than US$100 for the entire stay. The views from the rooms are spectacular. You’re able to see the city/ river. When it rains it’s just so beautiful. I was lucky enough to watch a beautiful firework activity taking place during my stay. Overall, I very lovely time spent at this hotel and I definitely would recommend to anyone planning to visit Phnom Penh and I will most definitely stay here again. 10/10
You are required to pay US$15 deposit when you check in and it returned when you check out. Make sure to keep your room key safe or you will have to pay for it.
ZzoslynneA nice boutique hotel, clean and friendly staff. Breakfast not a wide spread but definitely sufficient. They also served hot porridge per order. We asked for half boil egg, they gladly do for us. All staff from the front desk to the breakfast, helpful and friendly. Facilities only a pool but that is not what we go for so is fine. We ae happy with this hotel.
IImtiaz ImtuEverything was fine, but they kept me in a room where the door lock was broken, and they gave me a manual key to use, which I couldn't use normally. It was very hard to use, and every time I wanted to open the room, I had to call reception for help. Despite this, they didn't give me another room to stay in.
Later, in a hurry, I forgot the key in the room and locked myself out. They couldn't even provide me with a duplicate key because they didn't have one. I informed the receptionist and waited outside the room for about two hours. After this time, they provided me with another room to stay in for just 10 minutes. I went to rest, and after 10 minutes, somehow they managed to open the door and called me to move back to the same room. They requested that I not forget the key inside again instead of giving me another room to stay in permanently. What a terrible experience; I wasted a day and a night there.
GGuest UserAn unfortunate experience, I found myself in the worst situation dealing with M Residence, as on the day of my check-in, the Sale Manager Vincent neglected to inform the receptionist about my booking, and instead of booking online for a fair rate, they wanted to charge me 50 USD per night, when it was only 24 USD online. Because the receptionist was new and unfamiliar with the process, she had to validate each step with her manager. It took me 45 minutes to check-in. The whole thing felt sketchy because I had to pay 130 USD with tax instead of 72 USD online with Airbnb small tax it would have cost max 86 USD if I recall. Anyway, I paid and received a very small room with hardly working air conditioning and filthy elevator. The swimming pool was breaking apart, and it appeared that the structure was inadequately maintained. There was no pool attendant, and no PH and CL analysis of the chemicals in the pool was available. The entire establishment is a shambles, and they definitely lack hospitality skills. Anyway I shared some information about my experience with the Manager who told me “The staff are so bad” I wanted to react and tell him that he should invest in training them but I could see there was no point in telling him has he clearly do not hold any sense of hospitality skills… The day before my departure I contact the “Receptionist Supervisor” and asked if I should do my check out now to collect my deposit back as I leave at 5:50 am and she informed to not to worry there is 24/7 staff at the lobby. Of course, the day of my check out there was no staff at the lobby to proceed my check-out so now they are ghosting me over 30 USD refund. In addition to all of this I intended to do a collaboration with the Sales manager upon my arrival a discount or free stay over some pictures which they gladly receive but never gave me proper feedback nor a compensation. M Residence is a disgrace to the hospitality industry in Cambodia. Their unethical practices and scams are not the way to conduct business.
JJDUBLYAWe had a few days in Phnom Penh then went to Vietnam and came back to Phnom Penh for another 4 nights and this is where we booked in. It is in a great position right in the middle of town hence we could nearly walk anywhere we wanted. Fantastic value for money including breakfast. The breakfast is very decent and it is a la carte.....with things like eggs bene, pancakes, asian breakfasts and you also get coffee, tea and juice. The room itself was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The previous place we had stayed the bed was hard as a rock. The rooms are decorated very nicely and the bathrooms are good too. You have dressing gowns etc, shampoo and soaps, fridge in the room, tissues and we had a balcony (not sure if all rooms have a balcony). The staff were always very helpful and super friendly. There is a small pool on the rooftop near the restaurant. There are only 4-5 lounge chairs but we always were able to get one when we wanted. It was never that crowded I guess because a lot of people are out and about during the day but it was so refreshing to have a pool when you came back from a day out sightseeing. There is also a coffee shop on the ground floor which is great just to grab a coffee when needed. We loved our stay at Lavanya Boutique Hotel and would not hesitate to recommend.
