Langkawi 5-Star Hotel Guide

Kuah is the main town on Langkawi Island and also a small port. From Kuah, tourists generally take ferries to visit nearby islands. There are many duty-free shops, travel agents, restaurants, and affordable accommodations in the center of Kuah. This town is not busy and crowded like other modern metropolises and still maintains a pristine harbor style. Cenang Beach is located on Langkawi’s main tourism belt and is therefore one of the island’s busiest beaches. Cenang Beach is the first choice for Europeans coming to Langkawi. The beach is clean, the sea beautiful and the scenery very charming, which reflects the original life style near the beach. On the Eagle Square stands Eagle Tower, which is known as Langkawi’s new landmark. Langkawi means "red-brown eagle" in Malay, and for this reason the Eagle Tower is also a symbol of the island.

Located in the northern part of the Strait of Malacca, Payar Island is 19 nautical miles away from Langkawi. The island is covered with lush green woods and suitable for activities such as snorkeling, deep sea diving and swimming. Visitors can also participate in day-long snorkeling tours. Tanjung Rhu Beach is located on the northern tip of Langkawi, and it’s different from the other beaches because of the pine trees that line the coast. At the time of low tide, Tanjung Rhu and the nearby charming islands are connected to one another and visitors can walk from one to the next, providing a unique experience. There is also a legendary cave near Tanjung Rhu, and the meaning of the mysterious texts carved on the rock walls there still hasn’t been cracked today. Underwater World Langkawi is located on the seafront of Cenangan. It displays more than 5,000 species of marine life and has a 15-meter sub-sea tunnel running belt. From more than 100 tanks of various sizes, visitors can enjoy many of the wonders of the underwater world that can’t be found elsewhere. In addition, cable cars head to Langkawi's highest peak in two stages. When standing on the highest viewing platform, you can overlook the whole area. The continuous peaks and views of the sea and sky are spectacular.

Langkawi has a tropical monsoon climate, and the temperature is between 24-33°C throughout the whole year. From April to May is the rainy season, which can be inconvenient, but it is suitable for travel at all other times. July is the traditional off-season for tourism in Langkawi. During this month, there are not many tourists or people on the beach. For this reason, it is possible to fully enjoy the private and exclusive space in various scenic spots. Although it is off-season, the tourist facilities on the island are still readily available, and Langkawi hotels will also offer preferential prices. Visitors can stay in sea-view rooms with relatively low prices.

Although the island is not big, there are many hotels in Langkawi and everything from cheap backpacker inns to premium resorts can be found. Kuah has the most affordable and mid-range hotels in Langkawi with many shopping malls nearby, making it the most economical choice for backpackers. Most of the high-end resorts and villas are located on Cenang Beach, and each of them is generally close to the beach. Many famous restaurants, snorkeling stores, and travel agencies are located at Cenang Beach as well. The Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is the only place that enjoys the exquisite refinement of Tanjung Rhu Beach, and is a quiet and beautiful place. It is an excellent choice for vacations and honeymoons.
