Berkshires Untold

I would recommend that Untold consider upgrading their sign on the lawn so that it can be better seen from down the road. I was disappointed that there was no available microwave to use. The three nights 4 days visit our room was never touched by room service. I couldn’t find any info on line about room service, ie fresh towels, beds made.

I was told they don't do any ******* VIP recognition and ******* shouldn't have mentioned that to me because they should know better. It's a glorified motel. That being said, the room was nice with updated decor. Surprising cost-savings efforts on their part - no coffee maker or phone in the room. Didn't bother eating there. $7.50 for a hard-boiled egg?

Having read previous reviews that criticized the reception, staff, excessively loud A/C, uncomfortable beds, etc, I arrived with definite worries. Our stay could not have been better!!! The hotel was filled to capacity, but our check-in was completely smooth, even with our early arrival. The bathroom was spacious with a fabulous shower with strong water pressure. The bed was very comfortable, with a firm mattress. Yes, it is a made over former motel, but the price was very favorable and I would not hesitate to return!

I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent stay. The front entry and outdoor space in the main area are stylish and have a modern, trendy feel. The property’s hilltop setting also makes for an attractive first impression. However, I found the rooms did not meet the same standard. The room was quite dark, with only one window and limited lighting from two dim lamps. The heating/air conditioning unit was positioned uncomfortably close to the bed, and the bath towels provided had noticeable holes. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. When we first checked in, the lights were not functioning, but someone promptly came to reset the breaker, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, while there were some positive aspects to the stay, I feel the accommodations did not reflect the price point. Steph -Boston/Fla.

We loved the comfortable communal areas. Beautiful patio with fire pits and sofas inside and out. Great bar and dining area too. It was very clean, Beautiful bathroom, comfy beds and freindly, accommodating staff. Highly recommended

Stayed recently at Untold, which is really a modernized take on the old roadside motel. Doors open to the exterior, but the property has been thoughtfully updated. The lobby and patio sitting areas are very well done—pleasant spots to spend some time outside the room. The rooms themselves have been nicely redone, with quality finishes and good attention to detail for what began as a motel structure. That said, at the going rate of around $400/night, the value can feel mismatched. Compared to other hotels at that price point, it’s hard to justify the premium, though I recognize some of that may be regional market pressure. A couple of things to note: • If you’re on the roadside rooms, expect noticeable traffic noise. Light sleepers should request a room away from the street. • Booking directly through the hotel was surprisingly difficult. I first tried through staff on-site but was told I had to go online. When I checked the Untold website, the direct booking price was higher than third-party sites like Travelocity or **********. I even tried to book direct to help the property avoid fees, but they wouldn’t match the price and redirected me back to the third-party platform. That was disappointing. Bottom line: A stylishly updated motel with nice shared spaces and comfortable rooms, but expect potential road noise and a high rate for the region/class. Booking directly is not traveler-friendly, which takes away from the overall experience.
