Albatros Beach Hotel

Lovely hotel. Immaculately clean. Excellent food with waiter service. Staff were really good. Special mention to Lucy and Tino in the restaurant. We were with Saga Holidays and our host Trina was very helpful too. Letojanni is a small resort and was quiet when we were there however there were still bars and restaurants open and local shops. Easy bus ride into Taomina. There is a railway station for trips further afield.

Based on the reviews that I had read, I booked two nights here. I needed a stay close to the main railway to Messina. This hotel ticked all my boxes but exceeded my (already good) expectations. My only regret is that I couldn’t have the kids with me as they would have had a great holiday. Wonderful staff - polite and friendly. Quiet enough to get two good nights’ sleep. I’d upgraded to balcony although the cheaper room would have been just as good. Letojanni is delightful. Less popular than nearby Taormina but better if you just want a quiet break.

Booked with easyJet for a relatively cheap getaway for 4 nights. Extremely impressed with hotel which offers high end accommodation. The hotel is decorated beautifully with a real boutique feel to it. Service was good and the breakfast which was included could not be faulted with something for everybody’s taste. The restaurant which also served lunch and dinner was of a high standard and again reasonably priced. The location is excellent however the local vicinity has limited restaurants and amenities, however certainly enough for a short stay. The hotel does offer a shuttle service to Taormina which is definitely worth a visit. My only quibble which is possibly just a me thing, was the seating by the small pool was rather uncomfortable and impractical, although looks great 😊. The beach is just across the road so this is easily sorted. Be aware though the private beach with beds only operates during high season. (June through to September)

Loved this super clean hotel with the best staff we’ve encountered for quite a while. Always pleasant, always available to assist you in any way possible. The reception staff went above and beyond in my opinion. Thank you .. The rooms were clean and tidy with enough space to put your belongings for the time we had there. We had a side sea view room that was just as good as a full sea view in my opinion. The shower was always hot and powerful. Watch your travel plugs… this hotel uses the newer 3 pin straight plug. Make sure your travel adapter is a thin pin plug as we had mainly fat pin plugs that didn’t fit. Luckily we had a thin pin one. Breakfast was plentiful with nearly everything you could want. The shortbread biscuits (yes at breakfast) were outstanding as was the fruit, especially the pineapple. They also had an Orange Squeezer machine for your fresh orange. No concentrate here. We ate dinner here on our one night and the food was lovely, the restaurant just lacked ambiance.. Turn some of the lights out please… It was too bright and too stark for dinner… The wine tasting was great as it got you chatting to fellow guests quicker that the norm and made the hotel a very friendly place to be. Now the negative bits… And it’s a shame I have to put this but it’s a review….. The pool is a waste of time…. If you want a pool with sun-beds this hotel isn’t for you. The chairs around the plunge pool were just for it to look modern… nothing else. I begrudgingly had to pay €15 a day for 2 sun-beds and an umbrella to sit on the hotels beach. You also have to pay €5 if you wanted 2 fried eggs at breakfast as they only supplied scrambled egg. However this didn’t bother me, I’m just supplying the information. Would I return… Definitely for the hotel and staff but we were disappointed with the plunge pool.

Thanks for a wonderful stay, especially Titsiana (my apologies if I spelled your name incorrectly) at the front desk! I would like to thank entire hotel stuff, great attention to the details we were treated like dear guests. On day of departure we left hotel very early, there were two boxes with breakfast waiting for us at reception, it was really nice gesture. The warmth we were treated with felt like true southern Italian hostility. Our room was beautiful and clean. Nice beach area, plenty of space, comfortable lounge chairs. I would love to visit this place again.

We had such an amazing time at the Albatros, loved the hotel, the staff, location and everything about it. A special thank you to the staff, Lucy in the restaurant, Tisana and Benedeta on reception and everyone else, apologies for not remembering everyone's names. We loved the fact that the shuttle to Taormina operated at decent times. Also the hotel was not clean. We also loved Sicily and hope to return.

Stayed here 1 week, the hotel is modern very clean and comfortable with very professional and helpful staff. The location is great with a many restaurants a short walk away, a few bars and grocery shops plus a 15 min hotel shuttle service to Taormina (book @ €5 x head each way). The gravel/pebble beach opposit is very clean and well equiped. The breakfast was very good, varied food selection and the service helpful with genuinely happy atmospher - Lucy is a real asset to the restaurant. All in all a great experience so We would happily stay here again.

Lovely room, beautiful view. Pleasant surprise that the digital safe in the room is free to use. Realised that we had not got the correct plug adapter for Italy, reception helped us out without question and lent us one. Breakfast had everything you could wish, orange juice was freshly squeezed, coffee was ground and expressed to order. For a change the toaster actually toasted (a big deal for me). Small pool area has seats but they are not comfortable, and it's in a shady area. Beach area incurs a charge for two beds and an umbrella. We only used this once and was surprised that beach sales people were allowed to approach us. No waiter service seemed available although a menu was posted on the umbrella. Room was comfy, clean and very well maintained.

What a find! We loved everything about this ultra modern, perfectly located hotel with its exceptional staff. Located a skip and a hop across a small road from the well appointed private beach, it also offers a small pool and delightful relaxing area to sunbathe or enjoy a drink. The inside areas are light, "green" and airy and the whole place feel relaxing. Our reservation included a wine tasting event which was informative and a great icebreaker with fellow guests. We did this the same evening as we ate in the hotel which worked well. The hotel restaurant was busy - good sign - and there are ample excellent restaurants opposite the hotel for a change which we enjoyed overlooking the beach. Rooms are extremely well equipped and space used very efficiently. Bathrooms modern and spacious. We had a standard room and it was perfect for our needs. A little dark as we looked out on the street and its lovely original Italian houses, but the real Italian vibe sitting on the balcony was lovely. It was very quiet at night despite a bit of daytime traffic. Just 77 rooms,, many with beach/sea/pool view, meant this hotel feels very personal and cosy, the staff know you and no long walks to your room! The staff were all five star all the way, nothing was too much trouble so thanks to Tiziana, Domenico, Bernadetta and the whole team who seems to know what we needed before we did! Albatros Beach is perfectly located to visit busyTaormina about ten mins drive away up hill. We found the hotel shuttle worth the E5 trip especially when we wanted to be picked up after dinner. However, we also used the hop on/off bus from the nearby square to visit Castelmola [don't miss this place], and we took a trip to Etna. The boat trip along the coastline - just ask Pedro the Beach lifeguard and he'll sort it out - was sublime. Boat came in, we hopped off our sunbeds and climbed onto the boat from the shallows. A bucket list trip ticked off and we would love to return to this hotel.
