Wyndham Garden Lijiang

First off, the basic amenities are all there: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, and lotion. Unless you're super picky, you won't need to bring your own. The water pressure is great, and there's plenty of hot water, making showers really enjoyable. Secondly, the hotel is new and very quiet. We were visiting for tourism, and while the hotel is a bit far from the ancient city (about an 11 RMB ride via ride-sharing to the South Gate), the peace and quiet, plus the newness and cleanliness of the hotel, were worth it. Thirdly, the service was excellent. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively added us on WeChat, explained the hotel facilities, and asked if we wanted sweet soup and afternoon tea. They even offered complimentary drop-off service to the high-speed rail station, which was super convenient. Finally, the laundry room was never busy. There were five washer-dryer sets, and even when I went at 10 PM, there were still some available – I was thrilled! In summary, aside from the location not being right at the ancient city entrance, everything else was fantastic. Oh, and the breakfast was delicious too! I highly recommend the rice noodles with zha jiang and mushroom chicken topping.

The service was great, especially Xiao Yang at the restaurant, who was super nice and gave us some excellent tips on local attractions, helping us avoid tourist traps.

The hotel is relatively new. It's a bit of a drive or taxi ride to the Old Town, and there's not much commercial activity nearby, just a cluster of hotels. The breakfast was quite disappointing; it felt more like a chaotic marketplace than a dining area, packed with tour groups. It was a scramble for the buffet, and the tables weren't cleared quickly enough. I wouldn't recommend it.

The room was clean and tidy, and they even offered afternoon tea. The service was excellent; Xiao Zhao at the front desk even gave me a small gift 🎁.

The location is quite out of the way, far from the city center, and the hotel still has a strong 'new renovation' smell. I wouldn't really recommend staying here.

The hotel is very new, clean, and hygienic. We received complimentary welcome fruits and got an upgrade to a suite, which was fantastic! The front desk service was very attentive and responsive. The high-speed rail station pick-up and drop-off service was also excellent!

The room was clean and it was convenient to get to the old city.

The hygiene was excellent, and the breakfast was very rich.
