The Bivou Lijiang

Among the three ancient towns, Shuhe is, in my opinion, the most enjoyable and livable. Biwu has a fantastic environment and a great location. We participated in all the parent-child activities, and the staff were incredibly kind and just the right amount of enthusiastic.

This was my husband's and my first trip to Lijiang, and we really wanted to stay in a guesthouse within the ancient town to fully experience its charm. However, we were a bit worried about it being too noisy at night. After comparing several options, we chose B&B House in Shuhe Ancient Town, and it turned out to be a really lucky choice; we stayed in a super satisfying guesthouse hotel. The hotel's location is excellent, right near the North Gate of Shuhe Ancient Town. It's quiet yet conveniently located, and also very close to Jiuding Longtan. The room isn't huge, but the facilities are complete and well-functioning: hot water, ventilation system, hairdryer, and dehumidifier all worked perfectly, making for a very comfortable stay. The guesthouse courtyard is filled with beautiful flowers and plants everywhere, and the hotel's dining and public areas are also very pretty – I loved them. The lady who checked us in on the first day was so warm and sincere; I regret not asking for her name, but she definitely deserves a five-star rating too. She made our first stop a wonderful start to our trip. Grateful!

Not as good as I expected. The loft was the most relaxing part of the whole Airbnb, perfect for watching a movie and having a drink – very chill. However, the guest room was a bit small, and the shower water pressure was very low, making it difficult to wash my hair properly. I also suggest providing bottled water. I understand the intention behind being environmentally friendly, but using a kettle for water makes food safety uncertain, and guests can't feel at ease drinking it. There were some activities included in the package, but the staff didn't proactively remind us to use them or tell us where to experience them. This is something I'd suggest optimizing. The breakfast was more Western-style, and the taste was quite good.

This hotel offers a surprisingly quiet retreat despite being in a bustling area, with the rooms being very peaceful. The food uses fresh ingredients and is full of flavor, especially the vegetables which were particularly delicious, and the service was very attentive. My only minor complaint is that because it's an old building that's been renovated, the ceiling height is a bit low, making it feel a little cramped overall, and you have to watch your head when entering or exiting. Next time I'll try a garden room.

Service: The service was impeccable! I couldn't book the same room type for two consecutive nights through the platform, but they upgraded me to a room on the second floor. I absolutely loved the view, especially the two enormous autumn trees (I think that's what they're called) that were in full bloom. Waking up to that view every day was a joy, and the room was so quiet, I slept wonderfully. Original welcome gift: Lijiang's climate is dry, so the lip balm and body lotion were incredibly practical. It's a shame I was a bit rushed and didn't get to experience the activities, but both breakfasts and the dinner were delicious. The only minor drawback was that some foreign tourists weren't very considerate; kids were crawling all over the floor, and people were playing videos loudly in public areas, which was really noisy. Overall, though, it was a very pleasant stay!☺️
