I want to Thank the Staff at Wingate for making my experience in Lima a great one. I Definitely look forward to my next stay here at Wingate by Wyndham Lima, OH. As a Commercial Truck Driver, having a comfortable place to go and rest outside the truck is important. I arrived after midnight Saturday night (early Sunday Morning) and Jimmie, who was working the Front Desk made me feel Welcome. He even provided valuable parking instructions for my truck and 53' trailer. After checking me in, he also stated that we (Wingate) serve a really good Breakfast. He was Not Kidding! The Breakfast Buffet was also 5-Star Quality! Cindy the Staff Breakfast Hostess, did an Excellent Job making sure that the serving trays were filled and that everything was clean and ready for all the guests. Her commitment definitely Sets the High Bar Example! The room was absolutely perfect and the bed and especially the pillows were Amazing! (I now know where I will be buying my next sets, from the information provided by Jason...Thank You!) Unfortunately, Sunday evening came too soon and I had to check out to make my deliveries. Gari, who was working the Front Desk, asked me how was my stay and if there was anything we (Wingate) could do to help make it better. I explained my stay and experience was absolutely perfect and exceptional and wished I could have stayed longer! She sincerely replied that we looked forward to seeing you back in the future! The experience made my day. I really felt sincerely Welcome and Valued as a Guest. You Guys Rock! I look forward to my next stay! For Jason, Katie, and the entire staff. Thank you All for a short, but Great Experience! Wayne

BOOKING: 1st I'd like to say that I read the reviews, as always before I book anywhere, and saw that they give a discount for UNOH. I called and spent a good 15-20 min on the phone asking about that and the woman said she had no idea of what I was talking about. She replied ” The AAA discount?” And I repeated UNOH and unfortunately couldn't spell it out anymore than that and I was put on hold for about 5 min while she asked someone, she came back and said she never heard of it so then I said ”college” and it just went downhill from there. She offered to book the room on the phone so I figured why not, I've already wasted all this time. First question, of course, was my first name .. 6 letters .. I spelled it out then spelled it out phonetically 3 times she repeated it back to me every time with the wrong letters . By now my patience had worn thin and I said ” Forget it, I'll book online” she asked me ” Why are you hesitant about booking now?” I explained that for whatever reason she couldn't understand me and that we wasted another 5 min on just my first name and I wasn't going to go thru that for my last name, address, city, etc and that I already had the website up and was signed in and it will be faster. She then went into a spiel about if I booked now they'd give me a special offer that I can get a free room(or something along those lines, it was a typical sales pitch) I kept talking over her as she read her script, saying NO .. I hung up and booked online is less than it took me to dial the number!! For that they would get a ONE star review, people can't spend 30-40 min to book a room. CHECK-IN/ROOM/AMENITIES Now to the hotel, it's a stones throw from Cracker barrel so you can walk over and get a bite to eat and there's a bar/restaurant in the hotel that not only is super cheap but was really good! I was able to get into out room about 2 hours early, thankfully because it was a long trip, the girls at the front desk were great and gave us a room on the 3rd floor. The lobby was very nice and clean, you had the pool, pool table, air hockey, ping pong, a small play area for toddlers, the bar/restaurant, a small arcade and aside from regular vending machines they had an ice cream one as well. Our room was nice, very clean, the beds were comfortable, which for me is a MAJOR thing having had several spinal fusions, if the beds are bad my stay would be very painful... thankfully, it was not BUT the pillows are square sort of throw pillow type and some smelled of smoke.! The bathroom was pretty big and updated. There were ample places to charge your electronics, some built into the nightstand, the lamp, and there were plenty of outlets. One thing missing from the room?? A safe .. as a retired officer a safe is a MUST but they only have safe deposit boxes at the desk which isn't helpful. I also don't like not having one for medications

It’s a Courtyard in COVID times but much worse. No lobby coffee, no bistro, no pool, no gym. As for this particular place, add no attempt at any level of actual service or cleanliness. It did make for the check-in process (‘here’s your key’ with no further introduction) incredibly fast, though. There are no COVID signs or stickers saying they went to any cleaning effort (though that may be a local thing). The layers of dust on the ceiling and fire sprinklers confirm this is a long-term issue. Room layout is the old setup with the tv being behind the closet. WiFi stopped working after 8 pm. They kept the cheap in-room coffee but ditched the Gideon Bibles. I would say it was a infection risk decision but the bathroom had no shower soap and a half-roll of TP, so that’s not it. Overall someone should call the health department.
