We have stayed here several times this year. Blague 1: Having tried various items from the particularily uninspiring plain typed sheet ‘menu’ we are convinced the kitchen cannot cook so we are resigned to just having the burger each time. Blague 2: We both ordered the ‘chicken burger’ (authentic French). My wife’s duly arrived but nothing for me. Five minutes later mine arrived with no apology but cold fries (what is going on in the kitchen). Blague 3: the maitre d’ three months ago was a complete novice who tried to open a bottle of champagne with a corkscrew😁 now he’s in charge he cannot see the customer failure of serving a table at different times. When I said “C’est une blague” he said it wasn’t Blague 4: the €17.50 chicken burger was three chicken nuggets. Blague 5: the offered cheese ‘Tome’ was the oldest crustiest cheese imaginable. Clearly offloading old stock. I do long for the Novotels that we have used and enjoyed for years; this is a joke but I guess you have worked that out.

This hotel is a few Euros cheaper than the B&B chain next door but its in a different universe. Premier Classe do have some nice hotels (for example Chartres) but this one is the pits. Rooms all smell of smoke, are dark, dirty and low ceilinged. Toilet/shower unit is dark and complete with cigarette holder by the sink. It smells of piss. It's fine for workmen stopping with mates, but definitely one to avoid if with family. Lot of people milling around outside smoking and on phones. We didn't stay more than 30 mins before paying for another room at the next door B&B. Oh, and their WiFi is rubbish too.

Although Limoges is not a tourist city, we also stopped temporarily on the way to Lyon, but the city still gave us many surprises. Mercure’s hardware and software are good, the design is very modern, and the hotel facilities are relatively new. The rooms are definitely relatively large in Europe. The hotel is not far from the old city. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the most famous butcher shop street in the old city. It takes about 12-13 minutes to walk to Saint-Etienne Cathedral. There is a Chinese restaurant called Au Panda in Limoges. I talked directly with the owner and his wife what they wanted to eat, and the taste was quite good. They are famous for their hot pot, and they also have stir-fried dishes, which are much better than those foolish Chinese buffets!

Nous avons appréciés l'accueil de l'hôtesse et surtout, personnellement, j'avais demandé une chambre au dernier étage, je n'avais pas reçu de réponse, mais ma demande a bien été prise en compte. Nous avons eu l'impression d'être tout seuls à l'étage (5ème) tellement c'était silencieux, chambre 522 donnant sur une petite cour très au calme. La literie nous a surpris car le matelas confortable, réagissait aux mouvements normaux de position, un surmatelas comme dans les autres hôtels du groupe corrigerait sans doute ce petit défaut. Bons oreillers, salle d'eau très propre, l'eau chaude arrive vite et très très chaude. Petit déjeuner sans grand intérêt, toujours par rapport aux autres hôtels de la chaîne. En résumé un bon hôtel bien situé.

The location is very good, the train station is diagonally opposite, the hotel has a parking lot, parking is convenient, but you need to pay another five dollars. Because it is a chain store (this brand is also available in China), the rooms are basically the same. No extra surprises, no dissatisfaction. Breakfast is also paid for 6.6 yuan per person. Hotel very close to Limoges downtown, just 5 minutes walk. Staff all over the hotel very very friendly and welcoming. Room not large, but ok for a short stay. Air Conditioning working properly, which is not always the case in Europe. Breakfast was also very good. When we arrived, they told us that due to Covid 19 they will not clean the room the next day. For us, this is now an excuse to save staff costs. But when we asked the next day to have our room anyway cleaned, a big YES OF COURSE was the answer. So again : the staff attitude makes the difference, and these people earn a 5 star rating.

We had a stay here together with our daughter and her husband. The location is perfect for downtown Limoges, parking nearby is easy and very cheap. So many places to eat and drink nearby that you are spoilt for choice. Rooms very clean and modern. Staff very helpful.
